Our Mission The mission of Volunteer Adventures is to create and promote volunteer opportunities that improve the lives of others and the environment in which we live. We seek to achieve this goal by connecting worthy local projects with volunteers around the world. Many local organizations are doing great work in their communities, but don't have the resources required to recruit international volunteers. Volunteer Adventures serves as the link between these organizations and the volunteers needed to make these projects a success. All volunteer programs depend on the skilled coordination of a variety of elements: enthusiastic volunteers, meaningful work, organized projects, and supportive staff. It is our goal at Volunteer Adventures to orchestrate this process for you. We use our global experience and resources to provide volunteer experiences that bring pride and satisfaction to everyone involved. Volunteer Adventures also believes that a diverse mix of volunteers creates strong programs and lasting experiences. To that end, Volunteer Adventures offers scholarships and other incentives to attract volunteers of differing ethnicities, ages, genders, income levels, and skill sets. Our Partners Volunteer Adventures has teamed up with local partner organizations around the world to provide programs that are fun, rewarding, and meaningful for volunteers and for the local community. Our partners represent a variety of organizations-local community associations, non-profit groups, and conservation forces-all of which are experts in their respective regions. Volunteer Adventures relies on the wealth of information and experience our partners have regarding local customs, governmental regulations, and, most of all, the best way to provide valuable services to the community. At the same time, we work with all of our partners to ensure that each program meets the high standards of quality that you expect and deserve as a volunteer. Our Story Volunteer Adventures formed as a natural offshoot of our parent organization, Bridge-Linguatec Language Services. A pioneer in "immersion" study abroad, in which students immerse themselves in a language and a culture, Bridge-Linguatec has over 20 years of international experience. We are also a world leader in TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certification, running teacher training courses in 10 countries worldwide. Each year, Bridge-Linguatec sends hundreds of students, volunteers, and TEFL graduates to every corner of the globe. Bridge-Linguatec's very first volunteer projects were organized for language students at our schools in Argentina, Brazil, and Chile who wanted to enhance their cultural experience while giving back to the community. In response to this demand, we began placing our students in local youth outreach programs, rainforest conservation projects, and volunteer English teaching positions in those countries. The success of our programs in South America inspired the idea for more varied volunteer projects around the world. Thus Volunteer Adventures was born. Today we are proud to offer more than 25 volunteer projects in locations across the globe, from Argentina to Zimbabwe.
