Owner and lead guide Wangda Tobgyal was the first Bhutanese to pedal 1,240 miles across country by bike. He infuses his trekking, biking, and festival-centered itineraries with an indomitable spirit of exploration and a deep knowledge of his own backyard, from the wildflower-covered cliffs of the eastern province of Mongar, to red pandas and black-necked cranes in central Bhutan, to ancient Buddhist temples in the western province of Paro.
I've completely enjoyed my time in Bhutan. The trip would not have been as complete without the help from our guides. It was great how everyone was able to change plans as needed and also make special events happen seamlessly. I would definitely recommend the company to any one traveling into Bhutan. As well if I return I will use the company again, Thank you.
Our three man trek was exceptionally well organised and customised to our needs and schedule so that we saw the greatest variety of landscapes in the most effective time. Wangda is a fantastic guide and organiser with a terrific team. We felt like part of the family. The Bhutanese food was exceptional in its taste, presentation and nutritional balance. Thanks guys for a challenging trek and a wonderful, memorable experience.
I have known Wangda (Lakhor Tours Director)for over 10 years and have seen him develop his busines based upon principles of quality and customer service. His tours recognise and cater to the individual. Wangda has an extensive knowledge of the geography, history and culture of the country and a friendly but not 'in your face' approach to supporting his guests. I unreservedly recommend Lakhor tours for the experience of as lifetime.

After crossing over the pass you soon come to the great monastery of Gangtey, established in the 17th century. The village of Phobjikha lies a few kilometers down from the monastery, on the valley floor. This quiet, remote valley is the chosen winter home of the rare black necked cranes, who migrate here annually from… more |
