Our trip to Baja takes you a world away (and just south of the border) to explore unique wildlife and playful sea life, coupled with local interactions, for an altogether uncommon and intimate Mexico experience. Join MTS expert naturalists to hike in the mountain reserve of Sierra de la Laguna and discover endemic plant and animal life, like the ornate shrew and the yucca night lizard.
Then surf Baja’s best breaks (cheered on by its finest surf instructors), snorkel and kayak in the Sea of Cortez—coined the “aquarium of the world” by Jacques Cousteau, and swim among the sea lion pups at Los Islotes. We’ll horseback ride along the undeveloped coastline at sunset, learn the secrets of Baja cuisine from a local chef, and—before turning in at our lovely ocean view rooms—we’ll ponder Aztec, Mayan and Greek mythology as we gaze up at the stars with a local astronomer.
