The ancient region of Aquitane is filled with history, from prehistoric to Roman to medieval. Cahors (38 km), Moissac (23 km), Montauban (35 km), and Montcuq (11 km) are all within a short drive. Montcuq has a lovely lake for swimming with a beach and snack bar. The city of Toulouse, with excellent shopping and architecture, is within daytrip distance. Visit the wine city of Bordeaux and the Atlantic Coast or the Mediterranean cities of Narbonne and Perpignan.
The three stone towers of Lauzerte can be seen from all directions. This fortified hilltop town was built to protect against invaders during the Hundred Years War. The village square, known as the Place, has an active tourist office with information regarding concerts, theater and festivals. Golf and horseback riding are available within ten minutes of the village. Market days are Wednesday and Saturday mornings, offering the region's freshest produce, meats, seafood, and cheeses.
L’Etoile is a carefully restored two-bedroom townhouse, full of character and atmosphere, with ancient wooden beams and terracotta and wooden floors. It is located just minutes from the main square of Lauzerte, officially listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France.
On the ground floor are the kitchen, living, and dining areas. The well-equipped kitchen is outfitted with a small refrigerator, stovetop, microwave, countertop oven, and a washing machine. The living room is furnished with two comfortable sofas and an antique cocktail table, and the dining room table seats six comfortably. Television, stereo, games, and guidebooks are provided for guests’ enjoyment.
On the middle floor is a bedroom with a queen-sized bed and a large fireplace. A white wicker table and chairs is a cozy spot to enjoy your morning café au lait. The bathroom (with shower) is also located on this floor.
The second bedroom is located on the top floor and has a queen-sized bed and an additional single bed. A cozy sitting area provides a place for reading or relaxing.
L’Etoile has central heat for cooler months and is equipped with a fax machine and internet access. L’Etoile is a non-smoking property.
