Itinerary
Day 1 – CAIRO, EGYPT: Arrive Cairo in time to visit the Pyramids and National Museum. Overnight Four Seasons.
Day 2 – CAIRO/LUXOR, EGYPT: After breakfast fly to Luxor where you’ll visit the Valley of Kings, return to Cairo. Overnight Four Seasons. (B, L)
Day 3 – LALIBELA, ETHIOPIA: Today you’ll fly to Addis Ababa then on to Lalibela in time for dinner. Overnight Roha Hotel. (B, L, D)
Day 4 – LALIBELA, ETHIOPIA Once the thriving and populous capital city of medieval dynasty, Lalibela, boasts 13 rock-hewn churches cut out of a solid red volcanic rock. In the late afternoon you’ll fly back to Addis Ababa in time for dinner. Overnight Sheraton.(B, L)
Day 5 – SERENGETI, TANZANIA: This morning depart for Kilimanjaro airport in Tanzania where you’ll then fly by light aircraft to the Serengeti. Arrive in time for a later afternoon game drive. Overnight Olakira Camp, an intimate mobile tented camp of 6 guest tents each with ensuite bathrooms and private verandah with an amazing view overlooking the Serengeti. (B, L, D)
Day 6 – SERENGETI, TANZANIA: Enjoy another fabulous day of game drives in the Serengeti. This giant ecosystem is home to millions of animals including lions, cheetah, leopards, buffalo, elephants, zebras, impalas, hyenas, gazelles, hippos, crocodiles, and more. You’ll also enjoy a morning balloon ride with a champagne bush breakfast. Overnight Olakira Camp. (B, L, D)
Day 7 – NGORONGORO CRATER/ARUSHA, TANZANIA: Today you’ll drive to the famous Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive, on the way you’ll visit a Masai Boma. In the late afternoon you’ll continue on to Arusha Coffee Lodge nestled in a beautiful coffee plantation. Overnight here. (B, L, D)
Day 8 – OKAVANGO DELTA, BOTSWANA: Early this morning depart for Maun, Botswana via Johannesburg. Upon arrival in Maun you’ll fly by light aircraft to Vumbura Plains. Botswana is comprised largely of the Kalahari Desert, within lies the Okavango Delta, a wonderful blue-green wetland, an incredible wildlife and wilderness sanctuary that gets its waters from rain falling in central Africa, 1000km away. Dinner and overnight Vumbura Plains. (B, D)
Day 9 – OKAVANGO DELTA, BOTSWANA: Vumbura Plains offers both land and water activities, principally game viewing in varied habitats in open 4x4 vehicles, nature walks, mokoro trips and boat excursions. Overnight Vumbura Plains where each large, luxurious room is raised off the ground on wooden decks and comprises a bedroom, lounge, shower and bathroom - with indoor and outdoor shower of course. Each room also has a plunge pool and 'sala'. (B, L, D)
Day 10 – VICTORIA FALLS, ZAMBIA: Enjoy a last morning in the bush then fly by light aircraft to Livingstone, Zambia where you’ll be meet and transferred to River Club, situated on the Zambezi River, 18 km upstream from Victoria Falls. River Club has 10 luxury thatched chalets perched on the riverbank. The rooms overlook the Zambezi River, and have en suite facilities including a bath, shower, toilet and basin. Overnight here. Day 11 – VICTORIA FALLS/KAFUE NATIONAL PARK: Enjoy a morning tour of the falls then depart for the airport for your flight to Busanga where you’ll take a helicopter to Shumba Camp. Kafue National Park is one of the largest National Parks in Africa. In the extreme north of the Kafue lie the Busanga Plains – one of Zambia’s most significant wetland resources and one of the few areas in the world that remain untouched by development and human activity. Overnight Sumba Camp. (B, D)
Day 12 – KAFUE/CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA: Enjoy a morning game drive before your flight to Lusaka then to Cape Town. Upon arrival you’ll be met and transferred to the lovely Cape Grace. Overnight here. (B)
Day 13 – CAPE TOWN/WINELANDS: Today you’ll enjoy a private full day tour of the Wineland region in areas including Stellenbosch, Simonsberg, Paarl and Franschhoek. Enjoy lunch at one of the many classic restaurants in the area. Return to Cape Town. Overnight Cape Grace. (B, L,)
Day 14 – CAPE TOWN: Enjoy a private full day tour of the Cape Peninsula including Table Mountain. The Cape Peninsula is the thin finger of land in the southwestern most corner of Africa with the city of Cape Town at its head. As you travel south towards Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope, the land gets narrower until the great Indian and Atlantic Oceans combine into one vast southern ocean, with nothing beyond except Antarctica. Overnight Cape Grace. (B, L)
DAY 15 – FLIGHTS: Today you are collected from the hotel for a private transfer to the Cape Town International Airport. (B)
