Itinerary

Day 1 – ARUSHA: Arrive Kilimanjaro International Airport near Arusha. You will be met, then enjoy your drive to Tarangire National Park, game viewing on the way with a picnic lunch. Tarangire is famous for its elephant herds and huge baobab trees. Dinner and overnight at Tarangire Safari Lodge, a tented camp overlooking the Tarangire River valley. (L, D)

All the tented camps on this safari offer comfortable accommodations with en-suite bathrooms and hot and cold running water. Their strategic locations provide a unique opportunity to enjoy a real safari camp experience.

Day 2 – TARANGIRE:  Enjoy a full day of daily activities and game drive with picnic lunch. Meals and overnight at Tarangire Safari Lodge. (B, L, D)

Day 3 – LAKE MANYARA: Morning game drive in Tarangire, then drive to Lake Manyara for game viewing with picnic lunches. You arrive late in the afternoon at your permanent camp atop the escarpment overlooking the park. Overnight at Kirurumu Tented Camp. (B, L, D)

Day 4 – SERENGETI: After breakfast depart for the Serengeti. This giant ecosystem is home to millions of animals including lions, cheetah, leopards, buffalo, elephants, zebras, impalas, hyenas, gazelles, hippos, crocodiles, and more. November to June, chances are good you’ll see the great wildebeest migration. Here you can enjoy an optional Serengeti balloon trip and champagne bush breakfast for $500 per person. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Kati Kati Camp. In April and May you will stay at Lake Masek Camp. (B, L, D)

Day 5 – SERENGETI: Enjoy another full day game drive in the Serengeti with an evening sundowner overlooking the savannah. Overnight Serengeti Kati Kati Camp. (B, L, D)

Day 6 – NGORONGORO CRATER: After breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Have lunch then spend the afternoon exploring famous Ngorongoro Crater. This 100-square-mile caldera is home to more than 20,000 large mammals like lions, leopards, elephants, zebras, wildebeest and the rare black rhino. Dinner and overnight at the Plantation Lodge. Like a green oasis, Plantation Lodge’s 16 rooms rest on the soft, red-brown hills near Ngorongoro. The individually furnished rooms and suites offer comfort and relaxation and access to many activities.

Day 7 – ARUSHA/FLIGHTS: Have breakfast and drive back to Arusha where you’ll enjoy lunch and free time for shopping or sightseeing. Then in the late afternoon, drive to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home. (B, L)
