Cairo, Egypt

On arrival you will be met at the airport and taken to your luxury accommodations in a Nile- or pyramid-view room.

DAY 2

Cairo & Aswan

Today’s sightseeing highlights include the world-renowned Egyptian Museum, including the remarkable Tutankhamen collection and the Mummies Room, the Citadel, one of the world’s greatest monuments to medieval warfare, and the beautiful Mohammed Ali Mosque. Later, fly to Aswan and you will be transferred to the hotel. (B, L)

DAY 3

Abu Simbel & Nile Cruise

Take a flight from Aswan to see the remarkable Egyptian monuments at Abu Simbel. Also visit the High Dam, unfinished Obelisk and Philae Temple. In the afternoon enjoy a felucca cruise to visit Lord Kitchener’s beautiful Botanical Garden. Later that afternoon board the beautiful Sonesta St. George I and settle into your luxurious accommodations which will be in a Presidential Suite. (B, L, D)

Kom Ombo, Edfu & Esna

Today we sail to Kom Ombo to visit the double temple of Sobek and Haroeris located on the banks of the Nile. Then continue to Edfu with a visit to the Temple of Horus, considered the best preserved cult temple in Egypt. (B, L, D)

Luxor

Visit the sprawling Temple of Karnak today. It is the largest temple complex ever built by man and represents the combined achievements of many generations of ancient rulers. (B, L, D)

Luxor & Cairo

After breakfast aboard the ship, disembark from the Sonesta St. George I and visit the celebrated ancient sites near Luxor. Highlights include the Valley of the Kings and Queens. Also visit other ancient sites including the tomb of “King Tut.” (B)

DAYS 7 & 8

Cairo & Depart for Home

Visits the Pyramids and their Funeral Chambers; the iconic Sphinx; the Solar Boat Museum, and the ancient city of Memphis with Sakkara, site of the Step Pyramid. On Day 8, return home with treasured memories of this grand journey into the past. (2B, L)
