Itinerary
Day 1 Vienna
Vienna is situated in the northeast with the Danube River running through the northern suburbs of the city. The Ringstrasse forms the boundary of the elegant First District, with its fine architecture, shops and hotel. The Hapsburgs who ruled the country for six centuries resided in the Hofburg where the Kaiser-Apartments (Imperial Apartments) and the Crown Jewels are now open to the public. The Spanish Riding School in the Hofburg where the famous white Lipizzaner stallions perform finely executed dressage manoeuvres to Viennese classical music is very popular with tourists. Schloss Schönbrunn, can be compared with Versailles; its landscaped park is also home to the world’s oldest zoo. There are more than 50 museums open to the public, including the Natural History Museum, the Austrian Museum of Applied Arts, the Museum of the 20th Century, the Museum of Modern Art, the Museums quarter, the Künstlerhaus, the Clock and Watch Museum and the Technology Museum.

Day 2 Vienna
Spend an enjoyable 3 hours exploring the city of Vienna today on a private tour which will provide an overall impression of the most significant sights of Vienna. Along the Ringstrasse admire numerous magnificent buildings, such as the MAK, the State Opera House, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Natural History Museum, the cultural district the Museums Quartier, the former Habsburg winter residence, the Hofburg, the Parliament, the City Hall and the Burgtheater. The highlight of the tour will be a visit of the showrooms of Schönbrunn Palace, the former summer residence of the Habsburg family. The MAK shows applied and contemporary art in temporary exhibitions as well as in its unique permanent and study collections. On the way back to the opera pass by the Belvedere Palace, the former summer residence of Prince Eugene. The tour takes 3 hours and includes the entrance fee to the Schonbrunn Palace.

The Mozart Orchestra plays in Vienna concerts with internationally renowned singers and soloists - all in magnificent historical costumes and wigs and creates a special atmosphere in Vienna's largest and most famous Concert halls, such as the State Opera, Musikverein Golden Hall, Hofburg and Konzerthaus. The choice of works gives an impression of an authentic concert of the baroque era.

Day 3 Salzburg
Salzburg is the fourth-largest city in Austria and the capital of the federal state of Salzburg. It's "Old Town" with its world famous baroque architecture is one of the best-preserved city centres in the German-speaking world, and was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. The city is noted for its Alpine setting. It is the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the setting for parts of the musical and film The Sound of Music, which features famous landmarks in Austria, but focuses mainly on Salzburg.

Day 4 Salzburg
Past the hunting castle Hellbrunn we cross the Austrian-Bavarian border. Along the Königseeache valley, through the Bavarian mountains, past romantic farmhouses and the ruins of Obersalzberg - Hitler's former mountain retreat - we arrive at the highlight of the journey, the 500-year-old Saltmines.
Wearing the traditional miners' clothing, you enter the mines and hear the historical as well as the legendary tales of the fascinating underground world. Using the same slides as hundreds of miners before you, you go down a 100-foot-long slide into the grottos, the magical world beneath the surface of the earth. With a raft ride on the salt lake and a miniature train ride we end our romantic and educational adventure.

Day 5 Salzburg
Experience the breathtaking beauty of one of Austria's most beautiful regions, the lake district just beyond the gates of Salzburg. Admire the impressive hunting Castle Fuschl, today a luxury hotel, where the Prince Archbishops spent many seasons. Visit the famous winged Gothic in St. Wolfgang. Continue by boat to St. Gilgen on the other side of Lake St. Wolfgang. Visit St. Gilgen, where Mozart's mother was born. Passing Castle Hüttenstein we continue our tour along the Mondsee.

Day 6 Salzburg
