Day 4 Paris
Enjoy a 3 hour afternoon shared bike tour discovering Paris by bike. Your tour will either take in the 13th and 14th district, the 11th and 12th district or the 19th and 20th district. The tour covering the 13th and 14th district takes in to the alleys where some of the craftsmen of furniture and home decoration are boldly keeping up the flame. Those workshops are often hidden in 'passages' out of sight, which you will get to discover. Continue on to the New Bercy area, a former huge wine market and storage recently turned into a trendy residential neighbourhood. The tour taking in the 11th and 12th district includes a ride across the South of Paris, where the city bears the marks of fast changes, from factories of the 19th century to nowadays’ urban patchwork. Along quiet streets, trees and flower scents, you will get to discover the hidden charms of the parisians’ Paris, with cottages, artists workshops and unexpected pieces of architecture. The tour covering the 19th and 20th districts covers the hilly ‘East End’ and showcases green areas and modern architecture. Canals and boats, small houses in green yards, typical districts such as Belleville and Menilmontant oddly alternate with newlybuilt residential ensembles or such bright novelties as the Parc de la Villette. (Tour includes a central meeting point, bike, English speaking Guide, insurance. In case of bad weather, a walking tour will be proposed an alternative.)
