Day 1
Arrive Nairobi
Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be welcomed by your Cox & Kings local representative and transferred to your hotel. Macushla House or Fairmont The Norfolk – 1-night (L, D)

Day 2
Lewa Downs
Today, fly to the central highlands of Kenya, to Lewa Downs, home to a growing population of black rhino. During your time here, spot an abundance of other wildlife on the conservancy, including elephants, giraffes, eland, oryx, buffalo, lion, leopards, cheetah and even wild dog. Lewa Safari Camp or Lewa Wilderness Lodge – 2-nights (B, L, D)

Day 3
Lewa Downs
Enjoy game-viewing activities in the Lewa Conservancy, including day and night game drives and guided walks through the plains. (B, L, D)

Option: Enjoy horseback riding and fly-fishing at Lewa Downs. If you’re feeling adventurous, take flight on a biplane ride, or search for game by camelback.

Day 4
Samburu National Park
Today, fly by light aircraft to Samburu National Park. See Kenya’s “northern five”: beisa oryx, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra and Somali ostrich. Keep an eye out for large herds of elephant and crocodile along the meandering EwasoNyiro River. Samburu herdsmen, dressed in rich red blankets, are often seen driving their herds. Day 5-6
Samburu National Park
Savor two days of early morning and late afternoon game drives in Samburu National Park, complemented by cultural visits to the neighboring villages. (B, L, D)

Day 7
To the Ngorongoro Crater
Today fly to Tanzania via Nairobi. Arrive in Arusha and continue through the fertile Tanzanian highlands to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge or Ngorongoro Crater Lodge – 2-nights (B, L, D)

Day 8
Ngorongoro Crater
The world-famous Ngorongoro Crater spans 100-square miles and contains one of the greatest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. The “big five” (lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and elephant) can be found, along with most other species found in East Africa. After a morning or afternoon game drive, perhaps explore one or more of the other amazing areas that comprise the Conservation area, including Empakaai Crater. (B, L, D)

Day 9
Northern or Southern Serengeti
Travel today to the famed Serengeti National Park. If traveling by road, stop at Olduvai — or more accurately Oldupai — Gorge en route to learn a bit about the famed excavations here. The Serengeti is the iconic game park of legends and dreams. With no fences or manmade barriers, the park plays host to one of the greatest wildlife migrations in the world. Day 10
Serengeti National Park
Enjoy half- or full-day game drives searching for lion, leopard and cheetah, as well as the rare black rhino. (B, L, D)

Option: Soar above the Serengeti on a spectacular sunrise hot-air balloon ride followed by a sumptuous champagne brunch.

Day 11
Central or Western Serengeti
Traverse the vast Serengeti plains into either the northern or southern reaches of the Serengeti National Park. Mbuzi Mawe Tented Camp, Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge or Singita Sabora Tented Camp – 2-nights (B, L, D)

Day 12
Serengeti National Park
Embark on half- or full-day game drives. Watch the lion stalk its prey, the sleek cheetah fly across the plains and families of giraffe munching contentedly on acacia leaves. (B, L, D)

Day 13
Depart Kilimanjaro
Today you are transferred to the airstrip for your flight to Kilimanjaro, where you connect with your onward flight. (B, L)
