Itinerary

Day 1 - Day 4
Meet & Assist by your pilot on arrival at Maun Airport
Sefofane shared charter flight Maun - Chitabe
Chitabe is a luxurious 16 bedded, tented camp built on one of the most beautiful islands in the Okavango Delta, in a private area that is bordered on three sides by the Moremi Game Reserve. Waterways and lagoons, where a variety of wildlife can be found, surround the area. Accommodation consists of eight spacious East African style tents that are built on elevated wooden decks, beneath the lush tree canopy. Each tented room has en suite facilities with flush toilets, and an inside and outside shower and basin with hot and cold running water. The thatched dining area, lounge and pub are also raised on decks overlooking the surrounding flood plains, and a pool allows guests to cool off from the heat of the day. Activities consist of day and night game drives in open 4x4 vehicles accompanied by an experienced guide, as well as guided nature walks and mekoro (dugout canoes) trips on the Delta. Game viewing is good, and includes buffalo, elephant, lion, leopard, reedbuck, lechwe, impala, zebra and hippo. Wild dogs are also sometimes sighted. Night drives can be very rewarding with good sightings of the more rare nocturnal animals.

Day 4 - Day 6
Charter flight from Chitabe Camp to Kwetsani Camp
Kwetsani Camp is a five roomed luxury tented camp located in a private reserve 25kms to the west of Mombo and to the west of the Moremi Game Reserve. The large elongated island on which Kwetsani is built is heavily wooded, cool and shady with Palm, Mangosteen and Fig trees and is one of the most remote camps in the entire Okavango Delta. Kwetsani Camp is raised on stilts beneath a shady canopy. Five wonderful, spacious tree-house chalets are built under thatch roofs, with wood, glass and a little canvas. All have en-suite facilities including a shower, flush toilet, twin basins and an additional outdoor shower for those who like showering in the open air. The camp overlooks an enormous floodplain dotted with lechwe and wildebeest. Guests can lie in their rooms, or in the pool, and watch the animals in front of the camp. All the Okavango's large predators are found here. Activities include game viewing by mokoro, walking on palm-fringed islands and game drives during the day and night. Due to high flood water levels, the night drives are currently restricted to an hour's drive around the camp island. In the height of the Okavango's annual floods, boats are used to get around the area and also to transfer to the islands where the game viewing vehicles are located. Lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog, buffalo and elephant are all found in this area, as well as good concentrations of zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, and all the plains game. In the evening you enjoy wonderful meals in the company of your fellow guests and safari guides.

Day 6 - Day 8
Sefofane shared charter flight Kwetsani - Duma Tau
Duma Tau is located in a private reserve in the Linyanti area, bordering on the western boundary of Chobe National Park, where excellent grasslands attract an abundance and diversity of wildlife. The area has large concentrations of wildlife, including impala, lechwe, kudu, zebra, giraffe, sitatunga, sable, roan, waterbuck, buffalo, and smaller antelope – but is most noted for its elephant population, which reach enormous densities in the winter months. The major predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena are also resident and regularly sighted. The reed and papyrus swamps are ideal for numerous and diverse species of birds, ranging from the fish eagle to waterfowl. One of the highlights of Duma Tau is the privacy one experiences in this more remote area. Accommodation is in deluxe, tented rooms with en suite facilities. Aside from the wonderful surroundings of the camp itself, you have the opportunity to participate in game drives in 4x4 vehicles by day and at night. Wilderness walks are also available and provide an up close and personal view into the animal, bird, and insect kingdoms. Game viewing platforms are situated at key locations, allowing for brilliant wildlife viewing and photographic opportunities while remaining at camp. A swimming pool provides welcome relief from the midday heat. Evenings are enjoyed in the company of your fellow guests and camp staff.
