Itinerary

Day 1-3:  Morning air transfer from Johannesburg's O.R. Tambo International Airport to one of the prime wildlife areas of South Africa, for a 3-night stay at a private luxury safari lodge. An unfenced border with the world famous Kruger National Park allows elephant, lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo as well as a variety of plains game such as zebra, giraffe and antelope species to roam freely. Two game drives a day, conducted by professional rangers in open 4x4 vehicles, ensure that you get as close as possible to the wildlife. Your return is celebrated with gastronomic splendour, courtesy of the lodge's resident chef.

Day 4:  Road transfer to a beautiful forest lodge near the famous Panorama Route, one of the most scenic areas in South Africa, for a 2-night stay. Drive through the village of Hazyview, the heart of one of South Africa's ethnic, rural areas. Enjoy the lodge's breathtaking views and mouth-watering cuisine. Also enjoy superb hikes on the extensive property, as well as horse riding or relaxing spa treatments at the lodge's state-of-the-art spa.

Day 5:  Full day guided tour of the Panorama Route, including a visit to the Blyde River Canyon, the amazing potholes at Bourke's Luck, spectacular God's Window, the quaint historic mining town of Pilgrim's Rest, and one of the beautiful waterfalls typical of the area.

Day 6:  Air transfer to Cape Town, for a 4-night stay at a luxury hotel at Cape Town's famous Waterfront, a world- renowned melting pot of cultures, activities, shops, restaurants and bars.

Day 7:  Full day guided tour of the Cape Peninsula, including a visit to Cape Point where Bartholomew Diaz discovered the sea route to India way back in 1488 and a stop in Simon's Town where wild penguins co-habit with humans. Weather permitting, a boat cruise to an island seal colony, and a visit to Cape Town's iconic Table Mountain will also be included.

Day 8:  Full day guided tour of the famous Cape Winelands. The breathtaking beauty of the Stellenbosch and Franschhoek vineyards – surrounded by mountain ranges and dotted with white gabled farmhouses – is surpassed only by the world famous wines on offer for tasting or purchase.

Day 9:  A day of leisure in beautiful, cosmopolitan Cape Town. Choose a boat trip to Nelson Mandela's prison cell on Robben Island, a sunset cruise to Hout Bay on the Atlantic seaboard, or simply sample the shopping at one of the city's open air markets. With so many options available, it may be leisurely but it won't be idle!
Day 10:  Transfer to Cape Town International Airport.
