Journey to Cairo first where you are introduced to the rich culture and history of Egypt. After two days full of magical sightseeing in Cairo, venture south to the Bahariya Oasis to the Qasr El Bawity luxury lodge and the home of the Valley of the Golden Mummies. Over 30 Grecco-Roman tombs, many with elaborate golden masks, were discovered here and continue to be excavated and researched. You will uncover another era, eerily preserved beneath the surface, filled with ancient monuments, shipwrecks, artifacts and the remains of Pharos, the Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders and tallest structure in the ancient world. This great triumph of the city founded by Alexander was lost to earthquake in ancient times and rediscovered by divers in 1994. The Library of Alexandria, another ancient wonder lost, has been reborn in the stunning Bibliotheca Alexandria. Tour this architectural masterpiece, a modern symbol of ancient wisdom, and also discover the ancient catacombs that exist beneath the city.
