DAY 2 • WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 5 • (PALERMO)
After our arrival in Palermo, transfer to our hotel by motor
coach. Welcome dinner at hotel. (D)

DAY 3 • THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 6 • (PALERMO/GANGI)
Enjoy a half-day sightseeing tour of Palermo to include
Palatine Chapel. Visit the city’s colorful, vibrant produce
and fish markets. Lunch on your own. Take a drive through
the Sicilian countryside to Tenuta Gangivecchio — once
a 14th-century monastery, now a family-run hotel and
restaurant known for authentic food rich in history and
tradition — tucked on a remote mountainside, for dinner and
overnight stay. (B, D)

DAY 4 • FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 7 • (GANGI)
Enjoy breakfast in the country before attending handson
cooking classes led by cookbook author Giovanna
Tornabene. Then enjoy lunch — the fruits of your labor —
with local Sicilian wine. Afternoon excursion with overnight
at Tenuta Gangivecchio. (B, L)

DAY 5 • SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 8 • (GANGI)
Depart for a day excursion of Caltanissetta’s winding
streets and exquisite shops. Take a guided visit of Piazza
Armerina and explore the famous Villa Casale. Dinner and
overnight at Tenuta Gangivecchio. (B, D)

DAY 6 • SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 9 • (TAORMINA)
Travel from Gangivecchio to Taormina with an escorted visit
to Mount Etna — Europe’s most active volcano. Spend the
evening becoming acquainted with Taormina, a beautiful
resort town. Dinner on your own. Overnight in Taormina. (B)

DAY 7 • MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 10 • (TAORMINA)
Explore Taormina for the day. Stroll Corso Umberto, the
town’s main street, famous for its wine and food stores
and chic shops. Visit the ancient Greek theatre or one of
Taormina’s art museums. Lunch/dinner on your own. (B)

DAY 8 • TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 11 • (TAORMINA)
Travel to Catania or ancient Siracusa on the southeastern
corner of the Ionian coast. Take a guided tour of the
Archaeological Park. Return to Taormina for overnight. (B)

DAY 9 • WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 12 • (AMALFI)
Breakfast in Taormina and then board the bus and ferry to
the stunning Amalfi coast. After getting settled in the hotel,
enjoy dinner at the hotel. (B, D)

DAY 10 • THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 13 • (AMALFI)
Following breakfast at our hotel, enjoy an escorted
orientation of the Amalfi coast with a possible stop in
neighboring Positano for free time and shopping. Enjoy the
evening in Positano or Amalfi on your own. Overnight in
Amalfi. (B)

DAY 11 • FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 14 • (AMALFI)
Travel by boat to Capri. Spend the day exploring Capri
on your own, taking in the sapphire bays and spectacular
vistas. Return to Amalfi late afternoon, dinner on own. (B)

DAY 12 • SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 15 • (AMALFI)
Depart for a half-day excursion to ancient Pompeii including
the major excavation sites. If time permits, there will be a
stop in Vietri for ceramics shopping. Evening on your own in
Amalfi. (B)

DAY 13 • SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 16 • (AMALFI)
Take a well-deserved break today to explore on your own
– shopping, walking or relaxing at the beach. Spend the
evening sipping wine while enjoying the beautiful coastal
views. (B)

DAY 14 • MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 17 • (AMALFI)
Enjoy a relaxing breakfast at the hotel and spend the
afternoon on a guided tour of Ravello. Later in the day,
say a reluctant “ciao” to Italy and experience a “country
evening” — an exclusive dinner prepared by Mamma Agata
— served on her terrace under the stars, with a stunning
view of the bay. (B, D)

DAY 15 • TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 18
Following breakfast, depart for your return flight from
Naples back to the USA.
