Itinerary
Day 1/2 - South Luangwa - Nsefu
Typically your day will start early, around the camp fire when you will discuss the noises and animals heard through the night. Your morning walking safari is likely to take three to four hours returning you to camp in time for a hearty brunch. You can relax in the afternoon, viewing the wildlife attracted by the lagoon, before a further safari later in the day.
Day 3/4 - South Luangwa - Bush Camb
The second day is spent walking in the game rich area of the Luangwa riverine habitat, with ebony groves, many lagoons and of course the Luangwa River itself. During your morning walk the camp will be moved to a second site and lunch will be waiting for you on arrival, alternatively you and your guide may decide to have a picnic lunch en route. This is a very flexible day and your guide will discuss options to suit you and any other guests
Day 5/6 - South Luangwa - Tena Tena
After an early breakfast, transfer to the Luangwa River crossing point opposite Tena Tena. This is a 4 to 5 hour drive. Tena Tena staff will meet and boat the party across the river, and then a 20 minute drive to Tena Tena camp.
This remote and small camp lies within the National Park and enjoys a stunning location on a sweeping bend of the Luangwa River. A grove of mahogany trees shade the large custom-made tents. From the thatched dining room and bar, guests can watch the elephants, hippo and antelope on the riverbank.
Day 7/8 - Lower Zambezi National Park - Chiawa Camp
In the morning after breakfast, a transfer will take you to Mfuwe Airstrip in time for your scheduled charter flight to Jeki Airstrip. On arrival you will be met and transferred to Chiawa Camp where you will be staying for the next two nights.
Resting peacefully on the banks of the Zambezi River under a grove of evergreen Mahogany trees, Chiawa Camp holds prime position in the heart of Zambia’s Lower Zambezi National Park. It is at this very spot, where David Livingstone ventured through nearly 150 years ago. Chiawa is one of Africa’s most desirable, sought after safari destinations.
Day 9 - En Route To Europe / the US
This morning you will have the opportunity to stay in bed a little longer. Breakfast will be followed by a game drive through the Park ending at Jeki Airstrip in time for your flight to Lusaka.
A representative will meet you in Lusaka, and accompany you to the international airport for your connecting flight back to Europe / the US.
