How to resist to the charm of the Dordogne and Perigord region! The Perigord is a land of chateaux, bastides, prehistoric sites, medieval fortresses, villages and its markets.

There are four different geographic Perigord designations: the White Perigord, the Purple Perigord, the Green Perigord and the Black the Black Perigord. The Black Perigord overlooks the valleys of the Vezere and the Dordogne. This limestone plateau, delimited to the West by the valley of the Vezere and to the South, by the valley of the Dordogne, is covered by forests of chestnut trees, pines and Holm oaks, which give it a dark colour and its name "Black Perigord".

This is the world capital of the pre-history with opportunities to visit some of the famous grottos, a country of hundreds of chateaux and high place of the French gastronomy, also known as the country of the “Good, Rich, and Unforgettable meals”! Of course, the excellent and welcoming accommodations on this trip will provide a real taste of the region, and give you the comfort a day of walking deserves!

From the “foie gras” to the duck specialties, or the meals with truffles to the Bergerac wine; the “Produits du Terroir” are the part of the Perigord culture.

'The trip was great! I lived in France for 5 years and took many great trips around Europe, but this may well have been the most memorable!'
  • Reviewer: B. Van Hook
The trip exceeded my expectations in just about every way. It was awesome and challenging to be alone on a bike in a foreign country. I would recommend it to anyone with a sense of adventure who is in good health.

Costa Brava Explorer - This is a WONDERFUL tour.  Bo was amazing and helpful, as were his directions and additional information in the hand-outs of things to see and recommended stops and restaurants.  I will recommend Pure Adventures to my bicyclist friends, and will certainly return to you for our next European bicycle adventure!
