I just got back home on Friday. IT WAS AMAZING!!! The whole trip was wonderful, including cosy warm Ecocamp, the guides Rodrigo and Roberto, the fantastic weather ( I thought you had wind and rain in Patagonia!!) we were so lucky, and of course the scenery. I think you and Cascada did an excellent job. All pick-ups from airports and hotels were there on time. I have been on many trips before with other companies in other countries, but you delivered what you promised, a positive, environmentally responsible, unforgettable experience. The day we hiked to the base of the Torres del Paine is a day I shall treasure for ever. I also made some great new friends and our age span was 30-72! Thank you Ceci, you gave me total confidence before I left and I returned home with it. Where to next year, Cec? Kind regards, and heartfelt thanks, muchas gracias, David

I did want to tell you how FANTASTIC our trip was! Thank you for all of your help and encouragement in putting it together. Our guide Cristian Silva was excellent - very informed and very experienced and put a lot of effort into making sure that I had the food I needed based on my dietary needs! Thank you again! I have been recommending EcoCamp to everyone left and right. It is a beautiful facility! Hope all is well! Take great care!! Saludos! Ciao! Shari Goldsmith:)

Estamos ahora in Francia llorando su pais ! Nos viaje a Torres del Paine fue super ! I swicth to English which is easier for me. We have been very pleased with Ecocamp : the concept of respecting the environment, and having the sensation of a private camp was excellent. The two guides Isabel and Maïcha have been so nice, interesting and careful for us. they got along with our son as well as with us. The level of the treck, I am speaking for me, was well described. The lanscape is so magnificent that it was a joy to discover a new spot every day. we really enjoyed our 5 days and it has been a perfect way to finish our discovery of the country. If I have something to say, it is that this prestation of high quality, concerning the ecology and the sport spirit, is expensive. I am happy to have been able to afford it but I regret that it cannot be accessible for more people because when you add the airplane from Europe and in Chili, this is really an expensive trip. This will be the only reason which prevents me to recommend it to some of our friends who are visiting Chile. . Thank you for everything ! You have a great country with great people. Sincerely Marie Dommange 10-01-2007

Itinerary

Day 1, The Kayaking Adventure Starts…

Torres del Paine NP, Serrano River

We start the day driving heading to Serrano Camp, located in the southwest shore of the Park, where Serrano River begins its winding path leaving Torres del Paine NP. This river is the main channel for draining the Park’s glacial hydrological network towards the Pacific Ocean. When we reach the camp we are given the equipment and receive safety instructions for the next three days of adventure. When everyone is ready we start paddling down Serrano River having the Paine Massif as background. When we have been kayaking for about 4 hours we have to cross a small part over land to avoid a waterfall. Afterwards we continue down river passing through beautiful mountains covered of Lenga forests. Near the mouth of Tyndall River we disembark at an ample campsite at the riverside where we pitch tents and enjoy dinner by the campfire.

Day 2, Superb Southern Ice Fields Panorama

Serrano River, Mount Balmaceda

After having a hearty breakfast we continue our kayaking journey. As we advance through this sector of the river we will enjoy magnificent views of Tyndall Glacier, a major arm of the enormous Southern Patagonian Ice Field! Later on we stop at Estancia Pekin Guerrero for having lunch and taking a break. Afterwards we start paddling for about 3 hours through Patagonic fjords in the realms of the beautiful Mount Balmaceda. We finally reach Mount Balmaceda area where our cozy mountain lodge awaits us for tonight.

Day 3, Exploring Balmaceda Glacier and Last Hope Fjord

Balmaceda Glacier, Last Hope Fjord, Puerto Natales

During the morning we will do a kayaking excursion to Balmaceda Glacier. Located in Bernardo O’Higgins NP, this hanging glacier of 2.225,50 yards is part of the Southern Ice Fields and deposits its icebergs in the Ultima Esperanza Fjord. The Balmaceda Glacier only can be visited by marine route like the one we are doing. After getting enjoying great views close to the glacier, we paddle towards the main dock of O’Higgins NP. In this point we leave the kayaks and board the catamaran that will take us to Puerto Natales crossing the Last Hope Fjord. The navigation could be spiced by the famous Patagonic winds and sporadic shows of local marine fauna. We finally reach the picturesque Natales town, where a transfer waits for our group and take us to the hotel. Adios Torres del Paine!
