Greenhorn Creek Guest Ranch has been a vacation getaway since 1962.  Offering generations of families who want a dude ranch vacation that includes something to do for everyone in the whole family is very important to us.   We are located near the Feather River Canyon in the beautiful High Sierra mountains of Plumas County.  While at our California Guest Ranch, you can swim in our heated swimming pool, race frogs, do some fly fishing and participate in our rodeo games.  Greenhorn Ranch also offers the perfect setting for meetings, business retreats, family reunions, mountain weddings and other special events. Check out  our new Equine Guided Learning program the most effective  meeting and retreat activity since the ropes course!

Accommodating all rider levels, we offer four riding categories, based on age and experience. Before your first ride, our Head Wrangler will conduct a safety orientation. After that we'll match you up with a horse that suits your riding level from first timer to advanced. Next, you'll have the opportunity to choose the riding group that best matches your skill level (a lope check for guests 12 years old and up is required before being allowed to enter an intermediate or advanced rider group). In each riding group or category, wranglers teach skills appropriate for the group. Each day's ride builds on the skills already learned. This is a low key, fun, challenging, but very safe way to ride. Trotting and loping is included in our riding program under careful guidance and supervision of our professional wrangler staff.
