For over 90 years the 600 acre Drowsy Water Ranch, nestled in its own private mountain valley has been providing folks from around the world with authentic Western vacations. We have programs for children from infants to teenagers with plenty of activities for adults and grandparents alike.  We have a complete program of horseback riding, children's programs, nightly evening entertainment, raft trips, trout fishing, western dancing, guided hikes, scenic jeep trips, campfires, carnival, staff entertainment, gymkhana rodeo, nearby golf, hunting and much more.

At Drowsy Water Guest Ranch we have a very special relationship with our 100 or more horses. We've bred, raised and trained them to provide our dude ranch guests with the finest of riding opportunities in Colorado.

Our Horse Program is outstanding and geared to every riding ability and age group. Horses are selected to match your own riding skills. Daily instruction, both in the arena and on the trail help to improve everyone's proficiency. Advanced riders have many opportunities to explore and blaze trails while handling their horses from leisurely walks to smooth lopes and gallops.

At Drowsy Water Guest Ranch our Rangerider program, for kids 6 through 13, is built around an instruction based horseback riding program where they practice skills in our arena before setting out to the backcountry on their morning and afternoon trail rides.  These young riders workup to loping and all day rides as their abilities improve.  Before and after the rides our counselors have other group activities to do such as an obstacle course, horse brushing, swimming, hiking, archery, rafting, lassoing a steerhead, and other group activities.

Our Buckaroo program for the little kids ages 5 and under is the perfect way for parents to be able to enjoy their guest ranch vacations. These young children are taken care of and entertained by our counselors, while the parents are taking part in the ranch activities.  Their activities include horseback rides around the ranch, games, crafts, and picnic hikes.  The counselors can take care of any individual needs like naps, baby feeding, etc.  Since our Colorado dude ranch is heavily family oriented, families eat meals together, parents can partake in any of the children's programs and riding, and our evening entertainment is also family oriented.

We also cater towards singles and couples the entire summer and also offer adult only weeks in late August and early September.
