Ranch Dining
The Rocking Z serves great ranch food family style. Breakfast is special pancakes with homemade syrup and bacon and eggs. Sunday is omelet day. Lunch is often a sandwich on the trail with fresh cookies when you get back to the ranch. Dinner is beef, chicken, or pork with sides of potatoes, rice, or pasta; a salad, vegetable and bread. Dessert is fresh pie, cake, or a variety of bars. A beer or glass of wine is served with dinner. On cookout night great dutch oven cooking is enjoyed.
Ranch Activities
Horses are our life here on the Rocking Z. There is also excellent fly fishing on the ranch and also on the nearby Missouri River. One day a week we float a section of the Missouri River. There is skeet & target shooting. Hiking, bird and wildlife viewing, horseshoes are all enjoyed. In our private saloon you can enjoy pool, cards, darts, and beer on tap besides lot of stories. Zack is an expert in local history and geology and can intrigue you with stories and drives.
Ranch Lodging
We have a total of eight rooms in two separate buildings. The guest rooms were built new in 2000. The spacious rooms, 18 X 24, include beds, private facilities, cast iron stove, and an easy chair. The beds in the rooms vary with either a king size bed, queen size beds or twin beds. The rooms open to a covered porch where you may relax and enjoy the view.
