After arriving in Johannesburg, we’re whisked away on our private plane to Mashatu, in the remote eastern corner of Botswana, at the confluence of the Limpopo and Shashe Rivers. This extraordinarily beauteous place is ripe for exploration in four-wheel-drive vehicles, on bikes, on horseback, or on foot, guided by canny trackers. Then we head north to Victoria Falls. After eventful game viewing in the Lower Zambezi from our Chiawa Camp, one of Condé Nast’s Top Ten Safari Camps, we fly to the Okavango Delta
As you’ve noticed, this is a rather epic trip, stunning in its diversity and reach. And it’s one made practical and comfortable by our use of a private plane and an attentive, charming, and well-versed crew. It’s an expensive escapade, that’s for sure; but its breadth, comfort, and feat of beauty beckon the serious travel aficionado.
