Sunbird Lodge, an eco-friendly luxury lodge is located in the Great Rift Valley, one of the natural wonders of the world. The lodge is less than 1.5 hours from Nairobi on a very good, private access road at the shore of Lake Elementaita, bordering and overlooking Soysambu Conservancy.

The Mara Simba Lodge sits overlooking a dramatic bend on the bank of the Talek, a tributary of the Mara River, gently blending into the surrounding wilderness. Stretching almost a kilometer along the river the grounds on the bank remain in their virgin condition, while the landscaped gardens filled with indigenous trees at the back draw a great variety of birds and butterflies. The lodge was conceived with an emphasis on exclusivity and comfort. It was designed to complement its surroundings and is decorated in Maasai traditional style. Wide, well-lit pathways connect the Public areas and rooms.

Activities available at Mara Simba Lodge (some at an additional cost): game walks, walking in middle of the African bush with armed Masai guides is truly an amazing safari experience; balloon safaris, imagine the thrill of gliding high above the impressive Masai Mara savannah while looking down at herds of elephants and zebras tottering beneath you;. nature walks, learn about the trees, shrubs, birds and little insects inhabiting the Mara grassland and how the Masais make use of the flora for medical and ritual purposes; birding, over 180 different birds have been spotted around the Camp. The keen beginner or the experienced birder will spend the early mornings in a remote area of the Camp with experienced Masai guide viewing sunbird, heron or weaver; community visits, visit the traditional Masai village, local primary school or the busy Masai market.
