Itinerary

Day 1 –  VICTORIA FALLS: Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to the historic Victoria Falls Hotel.  In the afternoon enjoy a sunset cruise on the might Zambezi River.  Overnight at Victoria Falls Hotel.

Day 2 – VICTORIA FALLS: Start your day with a guided tour of the Falls, one of the natural wonders of the world and a sight that never fails to impress. Waterproof clothing is provided for the drenching spray as you approach via the Devil’s Cataract, one of the best vantage points. This afternoon, you will have the chance to join one of the many optional activities that this area has to offer, including helicopter flights over the Falls, elephant back safaris, lion cub encounters, jet boating and a tour of a local village and the craft market (activities at additional expense).  Overnight at Victoria Falls Hotel. Days 3-5 – HWANGE NATIONAL PARK: Depart this morning after breakfast for Hwange, Zimbabwe’s largest and most famous National Park (Driving time: 2 hours to Hwange Main Gate and a further 1 hour to the lodge in open vehicle.)  Home to countless elephant, numerous lion prides and rare antelope such as sable and roan, it offers excellent game spotting opportunities around the many waterholes found throughout the Park. Your stay includes two game drives daily with highly qualified rangers as well as bush walk options.  Overnights are at Somalisa Lodge. (B, L, D, Dr)

Day 6 –BULAWAYO:  A final game drive this morning before setting off for Bulawayo, Zimbabwe’s second city (Driving time: 1 hour to Hwange Main Gate and 3 hours to Bulawayo). On arrival, join a walking tour of the city, including a visit to the superb Railway museum and the National Art Gallery with a private guide. Overnight at the Bulawayo Club. (B)

Days 7-9 – MATOBO HILLS: Set off after breakfast for the remarkable Matobo Hills National Park (driving time 30 mins), where you will spend three days with your highly qualified guides. Choose between a host of included activities, such as rhino tracking on foot, game drives in the Matobos National Park, walks to the numerous rock formations and remarkably well preserved San paintings, as well as sundowner options amongst the boulders. A highlight will be a walk the grave of Cecil John Rhodes, the founder of Rhodesia and an important colonial figure regionally. His grave site boasts some of the finest views in this National Park.  Overnights at Camp Amalinda on a full board basis, including all activities. (B, L, D)

Days 10 – BULAWAYO / DEPARTURE: Time this morning for a final activity before transferring to Bulawayo airport for your early afternoon flight to Johannesburg. (B)
