DAYS 1 & 2

Colombo, Sri Lanka

You are met on arrival at the airport, and taken to your hotel in Colombo. Tour through the highlights of the city. (B)

DAYS 3 & 4

Sigiriya

Explore the grand Sigiriya Rock Fortress, built in the 5th century and the medieval city of Polonnaruwa. Visit Lankathillaka Gedige, a massive temple ruin with a headless colossal Buddha statue, and Gal Vihara, with three huge Buddha statues carved out of its granite cliff face. Then take a scenic Jeep safari through Minneriya National Park. (B)

DAYS 5 & 6

Kandy

Drive to Kandy and visit a gem museum and witness a colorful cultural performance. Explore the Temple of the Tooth to observe a pooja ceremony and see Sri Lanka’s most valuable Buddhist relic, a tooth of Lord Buddha. On the morning of Day 6, explore the Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya. (2B)

DAY 7

Nuwara Eliya

This morning depart for Pinnawela and a visit to the endearing Elephant Orphanage where you can observe these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. (B)

DAYS 8 & 9

Nuwara Eliya & Yala National Park

On your drive to Yala, stop and visit Ravana Ella Waterfalls and the Buduruwagala Buddha statue, the tallest upright statues of Buddha in the country. On Day 9, enjoy both morning and afternoon jeep excursions into Yala National Park. (2B)

DAYS 10 & 11

Bentota

Today visit the fishing village of Ussangoda and the Galle Fort, built by the Dutch in the 17th century, and today a UNESCO World Heritage site. Take a boat ride on the Madhu River and continue to Kosgoda to visit a Turtle hatchery to see hundreds of baby turtles that will be released to their natural habitat. (2B)

DAYS 12 & 13

Seeduwa & Depart for Home

On Day 13, you will be taken to the airport for your flight home or on to your next destination. (2B)
