Something simply magical characterizes Peru. How else could so many amazing qualities be found in just one country? To begin to unravel the mystery of modern day Peru, first we must travel back to the origins of the country as the birthplace of the Inca Empire. You will have the chance to visit Cuzco, capital city of the Inca Empire and oldest continuously inhabited city in all of South America, as well as the famed sanctuary of Machu Picchu, a building so impressive that modern day scholars still struggle to explain its construction without the aid of modern engineering and equipment. In Lima, you’ll find much of Peru’s rich colonial history coexisting with the elements of a modern, thriving capital city. As you find yourself meeting colorful and friendly locals, you will peruse their world renowned crafts while being serenaded by the soothing sounds of the Peruvian flute. It will become easy to see why Peru holds such a dear place in the hearts of so many travelers.
