More Information on Torgiano and Montefalco Wine Tour:On this one-day tour you will visit the wine museum in Torgiano, sample the wines from the area and have lunch at one of Umbria’s best restaurants, followed by a guided visit to the wineries and vineyards of Montefalco. Both Torgiano and Montefalco are within easy reach of Perugia, Assisi, Spoleto and Todi.
In the morning we will depart for Torgiano where we will visit the Wine Museum. The wine museum is run by the Fondazione Lungarotti set up by the well-known local wine-making family who also produce the Torgiano Rosso Riserva, one of only two Umbrian wines to be awarded the prestigious DOCG (Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita –the highest Italian wine appellation), as well as a number of other excellent wines.
Following the museum visit we will have a tasting of local wines and lunch at the elegant “Le Tre Vaselle” restaurant in Torgiano.
After lunch we will travel to Montefalco for a private tour of selected local wineries with wine tastings of Montefalco’s wines which are considered to be among the best in Italy. Sagrantino di Montefalco, is the second of Umbria’s two DOCG wines and the area also produces the excellent Rosso di Montefalco.
