DAY 1

Arrive Nairobi & the Masai Mara, Kenya

You are met on arrival at Nairobi airport and then taken the regional airport for your flight out to the to the Masai Mara. On arrival, you are met and taken directly to Olonana Safari Camp, located on the banks of the Mara River. Relax in your deluxe tent or perhaps take a game drive this afternoon. Meals: Full board at the camp

DAYS 2 & 3

Maasai Mara

Enjoy 4WD or walking safaris of these plains that are rich with flora and fauna, including all of the Big Five. Spot the big cats, including lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena, as well herds of wildebeest, gazelle, buffalo, elephant and more than 300 bird species. Take time to visit the local Maasai village to learn about the local culture and traditional ways. The camp is also a wonderful place to relax, with its pool and mini spa. One night enjoy an elegant dinner out in the bush. Early one morning experience the Masai Mara as you float over the incredible landscape in a balloon. (B,L,D)

DAY 4

Masai Mara to Entebbe, Uganda

Spend the morning on safari and relaxing before your afternoon flights (via Nairobi) to Entebbe. You will be met on arrival and taken directly to your hotel camp. (B,L,D)

DAY 5

Entebbe to Bwindi

This morning take a charter flight to the Kayonza airstrip on the edge of the western rift valley in southwestern Uganda. You will be met on arrival, and driven to the Gorilla Forest Camp, in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Relax this afternoon or take a forest walk to explore the local area. This is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and home to 11 types of primates, including red tailed and blue monkey, black and white colobus, baboons and chimpanzee. There are also forest elephant, antelope, more than 350 species of birds and 200 species of butterflies. (B,L,D)

Gorilla Forest Camp, Bwindi

DAY 6

Gorilla Trekking

Today enjoy an incredible full day trekking adventure in Bwindi, home to half the world’s mountain gorilla population. You will visit one of the three available gorilla groups, each with approximately 17‐23 gorillas and at least one silverback. Human contact is very strictly regulated, and once you make contact, you will be allowed only one hour with the gorilla group. Experienced guides will accompany you throughout, many of whom have been intimately involved in getting the gorillas used to the presence of humans. Your guide will describe and elaborate on the wildlife and environment, as well as the gorillas. Return to camp for dinner. (B,L,D)

DAY 7

Bwindi National Forest

Today relax at the camp, and take advantage of the other activities. Take a bird walk to see the more than 300 bird species, including 24 that are endemic to these highlands. Walk to visit the local village to meet the inhabitants, including the traditional medicine man and the blacksmith. See their honey production site and school and attend a Batwa (Pygmy dance performance). (B,L,D)

DAY 8

Depart from Entebbe

This morning you are taken to the airstrip for your charter flight back to Entebbe, where you are then transferred to the international airport for your flight home or on to your next destination. (B)
