Day 1
Chan Chich
Arrival Chan Chich
Arrive into Belize International airport and transfer to your charter flight for the 30min flight over the rainforest to your eco-lodge.
Chan Chich (Eco Lodge)
Located on a 130,000 acre private nature reserve in northwestern Belize at the heart of "La Selva Maya", Chan Chich is surely the premier lodge in Belize for nature, wildlife and ecology tourism. Carefully situated in the plaza of an ancient Maya city and surrounded by pristine rainforest, the lodge consists of 12 individual thatched-roof cabanas and one beautifully appointed 2-bedroom Villa. A variety of ecology, wildlife and local community tours are offered from the lodge. Access is best by private charter flight due to its remote location.

Day 2-3
Chian Chich
Wildlife and Nature Touring
Spend a few days taking part in the on-site nature, wildlife and community tours on offer from the lodge. For an extra cost we can include night activities, horseback riding, canoeing and a presentation by local research scientists working on large cat research and bat research.
Due to Chan Chich's unique location on Gallon Jug Estate, they are blessed with an abundance of wildlife. Over 350 species of birds have been recorded at Chan Chich, making it one of the world's premier birding destinations - large birds, such as the Ocellated Turkey, Crested Guan and Great Curassow, hunted out in so many other places, are readily seen here as well as a myriad of other species. All five cat species - jaguar, puma, ocelot, margay and jaguarundi - are well represented with jaguars seen at the rate of about one per week, a record that is unmatched elsewhere. Tapir, both white-lipped and collared peccary, brocket and white-tailed deer can be found in great quantities as well as smaller species like tayra, fox, agoutis and kinkajou.

Visit the local community school and donate to the sponsorship scheme sending local children to high education
Hear the presentation on large cats and bats by resident scientists and donate to their research fund
Day 4
Kanantik
Transfer to Kanantik Coastal Reserve
Today take a private charter flight from Chan Chich to the south coast of Belize to the beautiful eco-resort of Kanantik.
Kanantik Reef & Jungle Belize Resort is an eco-sensitive and all-inclusive resort built in Southern Belize on 300 acres of private, pristine tropical land with 1,300 feet of private beach. The lodge consists of 25 separate, individual air-conditioned cabanas, restaurant, bar and pool. On offer are a wide variety of both inland nature, cultural and wildlife tours as well as excellent sea based activities such as snorkeling, diving and fishing.

Day 5, 6, & 7
Kanantik
Culture & Nature Touring -- Land and Sea
Spend a few days taking part in the on-site nature, wildlife and community tours on offer in this area: snorkeling and diving out on the world’s second largest reef or going inland to visit the Cockscomb Jaguar reserve, small local Maya archaeology sites, river canoeing, birdwatching and many other activities. There are an amazing variety of species to be seen in this area both on land and at sea including over 500 species of birds, manatee and even Jaguar among other unique animals.
Kanantik prides itself on its ecology focus as well as conserving and protecting over 300 acres of tropical coastline habitat they employ many other environmentally sensitive practices including:
They do NOT spray any chemical for pest control rarely for termites
No dogs area allowed on the land to protect the wildlife and indigenous species such as iguanas, coatis, foxes, agoutis, opossum snakes are allowed run freely on the land including the beach

Meet & hear from members of WCS (Wildlife Conservation Society) working in the area on various land and marine ecology projects
Visit primary school in the Garifuna community of Dangriga. Learn about the Garifuna people’s history from local community leader, visit the museum, see casva bread made, hear a local dance troupe & donate to local charities
Visit Maya communities further a field in the Toldeo district and learn about the fair trade cocoa production ongoing and how it is helping local communities.
