Itinerary

Day 1

Chaa Creek Eco Lodge

Arrive into Belize International airport and transfer 2hrs to your rainforest lodge in the Cayo District of Belize – the famous Eco-Lodge of Chaa Creek. Upon arrival at the lodge get settled in your room and start off your adventure with a night hike in the surrounding rainforest to see nocturnal animals of the area. Dinner is included at the lodge.

Chaa Creek (Eco Lodge)

Located in the central Cayo district of Belize, Chaa Creek is a private 365 acre nature reserve set along the banks of the Rio Macal River in the foothills of the Maya Mountains. It offers a variety of luxury accommodations and has a top restaurant, bar and Spa on the large, landscaped grounds. The lodge is famous for its medicinal plant trail and the unique Natural History Centre that they set up. The owners of the lodge are strong advocates and practitioners of sustainable tourism and the lodge has won many eco-tourism awards as well as being benchmarked by Green Globe. Its location offers excellent access to the many sights of the area.  Enjoy on-site activities such as horse riding, canoeing, biking, nature hikes and birdwatching.

 

Day 2

Chaa Creek

Xunantunich & San Ignacio

This morning explore the Cayo area & transfer to the impressive Mayan ruins of Xunantunich where we will have a private guided tour of the site. After our tour we transfer into the traditional town of San Ignacio where lunch is provided and there is time to explore before transferring back to the hotel for a free afternoon where guests can enjoy many of the on site activities such as horse riding, biking, canoeing or perhaps a visit to the medicinal trail or natural history centre.

 

Day 3
Chaa Creek

Cave & Jungle Adventure

Enjoy an adventurous cave / river trip to see ancient Mayan ritual sites where artifacts remain. Choose between Barton Creek where you canoe through the cave or Actun Tunichil Muknal for a more strenuous & adventurous jungle & cave trip with a surprise at the end! The Actun Tunichil Muknal trip is only for active people with a sense of adventure.

 

Day 4
Chaa Creek

Caracol Maya Archaeology Site & the Mountain Pine Ridge

Travel today to through the protected area of the Mountain Pine Ridge and down into the national park of the Chicquibal Rainforest reserve. Enjoy the changing scenery and variation of eco-systems as you arrive to the Caracol Maya archaeology site, the largest archaeology site in Belize. Here guests enjoy a guided tour of this fascinating and beautiful site with its huge central temple Caana rises over 140 feet above the canopy floor offering wonderful views of the surrounding site and rainforest location. After a tour of the site and a picnic lunch guests can explore the Rio Frio Cave and Rio On Pools before heading back to the lodge.

 

Day 5

Victoria House

Transfer to Victoria House Beach Hotel – Cave Tubing at Jaguar Paw

Transfer by land to Belize Municipal Airport. Along the way stop at the famous cave tubing area of Jaguar Paw for a fun cave tubing adventure down Caves Branch river through the rainforest and cave systems of the area. Transfer on to Belize Municipal airport for a flight across to Ambergris Caye (Island) and transfer to Victoria House hotel.

Victoria House is one of the best beach hotels in Belize and offers guests a variety of room types and villas to choose from. Guests can enjoy the extensive gardens, large beachfront, excellent restaurant, spa and bar. The hotel can also book top quality tours for guests and offers a really top class service in all aspects. The location is just south of San Pedro town so offers you a more relaxed and scenic setting but still with easy access by road into town.
