Itinerary

Day 1

Cayo District

Arrive Belize & transfer into the rainforest to your romantic cottage eco-hideaway at Chaa Creek. Upon arrival at the lodge you will be welcomed by flowers and wine in your room and a special Honeymoon Greeting.

Chaa Creek (Eco Lodge)

Located in the central Cayo district of Belize, Chaa Creek is a private 365 acre nature reserve set along the banks of the Rio Macal River in the foothills of the Maya Mountains. It offers a variety of luxury accommodations and has a top restaurant, bar and Spa on the large, landscaped grounds. The lodge is famous for its medicinal plant trail and the unique Natural History Centre that they set up. The owners of the lodge are strong advocates and practitioners of sustainable tourism and the lodge has won many eco-tourism awards as well as being benchmarked by Green Globe. Its location offers excellent access to the many sights of the area and there are also a lot of on-site activities such as horse riding, canoeing, biking, nature hikes and Birdwatching that guests can enjoy.


Day 2, Xunantunich Maya Site & Belize Botanical Gardens

Transfer to the Mopan river where you will transfer onto a hand cranked ferry to cross the river as there is no bridge! From here we drive a short distance to arrive at the entrance to Xunantunich Maya archaeology site. Guests will receive an informative guided tour of this small, picturesque & fascinating site and can enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding rainforest scenery from atop the main temple.

After a tour of the site guests will transfer into the rainforest to enjoy lunch at one of the beautiful lodges before beginning a guided exploration of the Belize Botanical Gardens. The Botanical Gardens is made up of 45 acres of native and exotic plants growing in the Cayo district of western Belize. The garden is in a valley on the banks of the Macal River, surrounded by the Maya Mountain foothills. The mission of Belize Botanic Garden is to protect the floral biodiversity of Belize by existing as an information resource for the community, government, industry and science and to be a place of beauty for all visitors to enjoy. They also aim to cultivate, promote, research and enable the research of tropical flora and its conservation with an emphasis on native species and their habitats. They aim to inspire the local community and visitors to protect our leafy friends and their habitats by learning more about the wonderful world of plants.

Day 3, Spa Treatments and Sunset Canoe Trip

Today is a more relaxing day when the honeymoon couple can book in for spa treatments of a facial and a massage (included with your trip). The rest of the day is free to relax or explore the extensive grounds and activities of the lodge.

In the early evening there is a sunset canoe trip organized.

Day 4, Caracol Maya Archaeology Site & Mountain Pine Forest

Travel through the scenic Mountain Pine Ridge National Park on the way to the famous Mayan Site at Caracol. At Caracol enjoy a private guided tour of this impressive site, which is the largest Maya site in Belize. Enjoy  a romantic picnic lunch. On the way back to the hotel, you can stop to visit the Rio Frio Cave and swim in the Rio On Pools.


Day 5

Transfer to the South Coast – Horse Riding

Today will take you down the beautifully scenic “Hummingbird Highway” right through the centre of Belize from the Mountainous Cayo district down to the south coast and to the luxurious eco-resort of Kanantik. Stop on the way to enjoy a half day horse riding adventure through the aromatic orange groves and rainforest scenery at Greenacres ranch. Upon arrival at their romantic eco-hideaway, the honeymoon couple will be greeted by flowers and champagne.

Kanantik
Kanantik Reef & Jungle Belize Resort is an eco-sensitive and all-inclusive resort built in Southern Belize on 300 acres of private, pristine tropical land with 1,300 feet of private beach. The lodge consists of 25 separate, individual air-conditioned cabanas, restaurant, bar and pool. On offer are a wide variety of both inland nature, cultural and wildlife tours as well as excellent sea based activities such as snorkeling, diving and fishing. Facilities: Restaurant, Bar, Pool, 300 acres of private nature reserve
Location: Remote location 1hr from Dangriga & Placencia. Arrive by land or air landing at their private airstrip.


Day 6, 7 & 8, Snorkeling & Cockscomb Jaguar Reserve

Whilst staying at Kanantic, enjoy a day of snorkeling on Belize’s famous barrier reef and also a day of exploring the famous Cockscomb Jaguar Preserve. Both are important areas of wildlife conservation in Belize.

On your final evening in Belize you will be treated to a private, candlelit dinner on the beach.


Day 9

Departure

Transfer to Dangriga airstrip for an internal flight to Belize International airport to connect with your international departure.
