Itinerary
Day 1 Montevideo
Montevideo is the largest city, the capital and chief port of Uruguay. It is the primate city in Uruguay, the only city in the country with a population over 1,000,000. It has a fine harbour, one of the most important in the Americas. Also, it has beautiful beaches, such as Pocitos, Buceo, Malvín, Playa de los Ingleses, Playa Verde, Punta Gorda and Carrasco. Many monuments and museums are found in the city, as well as historic buildings and squares.

This exciting tour lasts 3.5 hours and it includes a visit to Ciudad Vieja (Old City), the Cathedral and Colonial Town Hall, the Port Market, Downtown shops, Independence Square, Parliament Palace, the romantic neighbourhood known as "El Prado" where you'll find one of the oldest parks in Montevideo city that features famous sculptures. You will also visit the elegant residential areas like Carrasco, Punta Gorda and Pocitos with its magnificent private residences and the Hotel Casino Carrasco with deluxe gardens - an imposing building overlooking the coast and filled with tradition and history. The return drive will be along the coast to see the long stretches of world-class beaches.

Day 2 Punta Del Este
Punta del Este is an upscale vacation spot on the southern tip of Uruguay, southeast of the town of Maldonado and about 140 km east of Montevideo. Although the town has a year round population of 10,506 (2005), the summer tourist boom often boosts the population to about one million people between December and February. The city is internationally known, among other things as the most important and exclusive resort of South America
The tour starts with a scenic driving along the beaches of Montevideo and Golden coast. A brief stop at Atlantida where the famous poet Pablo Neruda once lived, now a small seaside resort for summer holidays. The tour continues to Piriapolis, to admire the Argentino hotel old building built in 1920, then drive up to San Antonio Hill for a panoramic view of the beaches and hills. Then off to Punta Ballena to stop at the famous landmark Casapueblo, the house and living sculpture of Uruguayan painter Carlos Paez Vilaro. Be amazed of the breathtaking view of the chain of beaches and Punta del Este's surroundings like the residential suburbs of Beverly Hills, El Golf, Cantegril and the spectacular mansions and summer houses of diverse modern architecture of San Rafael while driving along the Mansa beach. The tour continues to La Barra de Maldonado which houses colorful restaurants that are close to the beach. Return drive is along the Brava Beach passing by Yacht Port and then the city center called La Peninsula.
