"For any single traveling woman - no fear! I, a single 61 year old female, traveled through Egypt & Jordan with absolutely no fear or concern for my safety. Not because I am brave but because there was no external cause for fear. "We are back and we had a wonderful trip. Everything was perfectly organized, with the right balance between time with a guide and free time. We were very lucky with the weather, no rain at all except for a 20 minutes thunderstorm in Dalat. Halong Bay was very clear all the time although it is supposed to be foggy during the day. The Metropole was perfect, the best breakfasts ever, the boat, Jasmine, wonderful and we were only 14 people instead of 44…,the Palm Garden in Hoi An very nice, the Ana Mandara in Nha Trang, pure Heaven, the Sofitel in Dalat beautiful, almost empty and a very friendly staff."

Itinerary
Day 1 San JoseSan José was founded in 1737 and is a pleasant mixture of traditional and modern Spanish architecture. Places of interest include the Teatro Nacional, the Legislative Assembly building, and the Parque Central, east of which is the Cathedral. The National Museum and the Museum of Gold are also worth a visit.
Upon arrival you will be met by our local representative who will help you locating your vehicle.
Enjoy a private airport transfer with vehicle, and professional driver. The transfer is approximately 30 mins (22km/14mi).
Enjoy time at leisure to explore at your own pace, or relax at your hotel.

Seated in San Jose's downtown core, the Hotel Presidente is a modern hotel with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. The 100 rooms are equipped with air conditioning and all the features of home. Rooms are clean, and comfortably appointed. One may dine at the hotel restaurant or visit any of a plethora of hotels in the city. The hotel bar is known for great people-watching, as it has a bar counter looking onto the street.

Day 2 Arenal
Arenal contains an active Volcano, and also the only dwarf cloudforest in Costa Rica. The crater of the volcano is 1.5km (1-mile) wide and contains a hot-water lake which changes color from turquoise to green to grey. It is also a whitewater rafting center with routes on the Rio Toro and Rio Sarapiqui.

Day 3 Arenal

Waterfall repelling is known as "Canyoning". You will be picked up from your hotel and begin your adventure with a 30-minute 4x4 drive into the tropical rainforest outside the town of La Fortuna, in the shadow of the Arenal Volcano. This adventure includes 5 rappels, 4 of which are along side or right in waterfalls, and one dry rock face. After this sensational adventure you will return to the base camp to enjoy lunch. Return to the hotel after the tour has finished. You are required to be in good physical condition to participate. Morning Departure, Duration 4 Hours (approximately)
Recommended list of items to bring: Easy dry clothes, bathing suit, secure shoes (Sports Sandals and water shoes are best), extra change of clothing for after the tour, sunscreen

You will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the rainforest close to the Arenal Volcano. Enjoy a leisurely hike for 1.5 hours through the rainforest while your shared guide teaches you the history of the Arenal Volcano. This park is located at the base of the Arenal Volcano and is filled with wildlife including monkeys, toucans, coati and a large variety of bird species. Conclude the tour at the Springs Resort - soak in the hot mineral baths and enjoy! After a soothing soak in the hot springs, enjoy a lovely dinner at The Springs Resort, prepared in a colonial style rustic kitchen. Enjoy the local cuisine for a true authentic experience. Return to your hotel in the evening. Afternoon departure (3:45PM approximately) Duration 6 Hours (approximately)

Day 4 Arenal

You will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to The Caño Negro Nature Preserve. This preserve offers some of the most abundant bird watching opportunities in Costa Rica. On an average day floating down the canal, you can expect to see 40 species of birds, as well as various sloths, monkeys, caimans, lizards, bats, turtles, and iguanas! Tour includes a stop for lunch (typical Costa Rican cuisine) along the way. Morning Departure, Duration 8 Hours (approximately)

Day 5 Manuel Antonio
Well-kept and well-guarded, Manuel Antonio National Park features five kinds of forest, some with characteristic rainforest vegetation. Orchids and ferns, jaguars, ocelots and the Baird tapir may be seen here. There are trails through the park and many lookouts. Horseback riding and whitewater activities also available.
