Itinerary
Day 1 - ARUSHA, TANZANIA
Upon arrival in Arusha, you are met by our local representative and escorted to your charming lodge.

Day 2-4 - SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast and a short safari briefing - board a beautiful sightseeing flight to the spectacular Serengeti. Upon arrival you are met by your professional guide who will remain with you for the duration of your Tanzania safari. Your vehicle is a 4 x 4 Landcruiser/Rover with photographic hatch. Game viewing begins almost as soon as you head away from the airstrip... and sometimes in before that! The Serengeti terrain, consists of grasslands, savannah and rock outcroppings, covers an area larger than the state of Connecticut. It is said to offer one of the world's greatest wildlife spectacles. This afternoon set off on your first game drive. The Serengeti's 10,000 square miles support every type of wildlife found in the region: lion, cheetah, elephant, giraffe, antelope and numerous others. The wildlife moves throughout the year and as all Born Free safaris, accommodation location may vary according to season to give you the best game viewing opportunities.
Another exciting day in the vast Serengeti, traveling to the areas where the guides anticipate the larger herds or species that you might have a special interest in seeing. Today we will go out on a full day games drive with a picnic lunch.
The following day head out on a game drive at dawn and afternoon game drive, timed to coincide with the time of the wildlife is most active.

Day 5 - OLDUVAI GORGE to NGORONGORO HIGHLANDS & CRATER
Travel through the park to the beautiful Ngorongoro Highlands. Stop at Olduvai Gorge the area where the Leakey's found some of the oldest human remains every discovered. Then on to Ngorongoro Crater for overnight.

Day 6 - NGORONGORO CRATER
Descend 2,000 feet down on to the floor of one of Africa's most fascinating wildlife areas. The Crater's short grasses are an ideal area for you to view the many inhabitants that make this mystical area their home. Today we will hope to see lion, elephant, hyena, Cape buffalo, hippo and the beautiful pink flamingoes. The area is also the home to the rare rhino. The Masai coexist with the wildlife in the conservation area. Lunch will be served picnic style and then we will continue game viewing until mid afternoon.

Day 7 - LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
The lush countryside gives way to the Great Rift Valley Escarpment and Lake Manyara. This small but wonderful park contains five different wildlife habitats: grasslands, marshlands, forests, scrubland and parklands. You can anticipate seeing hundreds of baboons, elephants, giraffe and among other small species.

KENYA
Day 8-9 - AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK / MT. KILIMANJARO
Up early this morning on your longest driving day. Stop in Arusha for a snack/lunch and then cross the border to Kenya. Drive time to Amboseli is approximately 3 1/2 hours. Majestic snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro's 19,352 foot peak dominates the area. This park has a booming elephant population as well as giraffe, monkey, cheetah and other plains game. Early and late afternoon game drives offer the best time to photograph the wildlife with Mount Kilimanjaro as the background.
Amboseli Serena or Ol Tukai (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 10-11 - MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE
After a leisurely breakfast in the shadows of Mt. Kilimanjaro, board a connecting flight to the Mara Reserve. The gently rolling savannah and rushing rivers provide the perfect terrain to see a wealth of wildlife, including elephants, lion, impala, zebra, giraffe, waterbuck and cheetah. Your base for explorations will be a fabulous deluxe tented camp. Each tent offers the comforts of a lodge with the ambience of the "Out of Africa" tented safari. Each unit is built on a cement base and features bathrooms en suite. Service and food is unsurpassed. Morning & afternoon game viewing from special 4-wheel drive safari cruisers.

Day 12 - YOUR JOURNEY ONWARDS
Fly to Nairobi where you will have the use of a dayroom until your evening departure. Transfers to the airport for your departing international flight.
