Single suppl. Single supplement not possible during the hike. If you want to bring your own tent and use it as a “single room” – please send pictures and a description on the tent to Pathfinderlapland so that I can determine if it’s safe to use on the mountain.
Including: All tented accommodation in shared double occupancy. Full board from dinner Monday to Lunch Friday. Pathfinder of the hike is Lennart Pittja. Our language is swedish/english.
Fitness and equipment: Everyone with normal fitness can do the hike with the Pathfinder. We will hike around 15 km/day on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Pathfinderlapland will give you a list of what to bring and not to bring as a recommendation. We will inform you about our experience of hiking boots, rain clothes, sleeping bags/pads etc.
Packs: Every participant are expected to carry their own personal clothing and sleeping bag/pads. Try to keep the personal packs light for your own comfort. A guideline is that your personal packs should not weigh more than 15 kg including backpack. Your Pathfinder will carry the food, stoves etc. Within the group I do need help to carry some of the tents etc. Your Patfinder will carry the safety equipment, most of the food and tents.

Mon 17th GELLIVARE AND RITSEM Trip start at the shore of Lake Akkajaur . You will get here by bus from Gällivare to Ritsem and by boat on the lake. Your Pathfinder Lennart will introduce himself and the area where we are. Our first camp will not be long from the shore. We will help you to organize the bus and boat transports, but due to Swedish laws, Pathifnderlapland can not include any transports in my package. However, we will forward all the information you need to make direct reservations for bus and boat rides, and the trip is adapted to the timetables for train/bus. You will get more information about this after your reservation, Todays hike is short, and this first night will be spent in comfortable tents provided by us. (Tent, Dinner)
Tue 18th SÅRKÅJAUR Hike approximately 10 km this day. We will hike up on the mountain of Gálavárdo and we will go from about 450 meters above sea level up to about 800 meters. This is the heart of the summer pasture land of Unna Cerus Saami Community, and your Pathfinder will tell you about the reindeer herding in the area. The views are magnificent if clear weather. This is also the land of big predators, both Lynx and Wolverine lives here. In the afternoon we will reach Pathfinderlapland’s camp in Sårkåjaur. (Saami camp, BLD)
Wed 19th DAYTRIP IN SÅRKÅJAUR
Fishing, picking berries, baking, taking a sauna, hike to a mountain top nearby. The options are many in this area, but you can also just relax and listen to the great silence of the mountains in Sårkåjaur. (Saami camp, BLD)
Thu 20th KROKVATTNET
Hike over the border to the Norwegian side. Todays hike will be a full day, apx. 15 km. We follow the same route as the saami people have used through the centuries. Saami people in this area has never seen any border – this is saami land.. These trails existed long before the border. This trail, Rádjebálges, has recently been marked by the municipalities on both sides of the border. Therefore, there’s bridges and shelters along the trail that we can use if necessary. (Tent, BLD)
Fri 21st
Today we will continue our hike. Now we will reach the magnificent fjords of Norway. The hike will end in Sörfjorden, part of Tysfjord. Today we will kike apx. 15 km. The last 7 km will be quite steep, since we will go down form the mountain all the way down to the Atlantic ocean. Your Pathfinder experience ends at the shore of the Atlantic. You can order a boat taxi that takes you to Kjöpsvik. You can stay in Kjöpsvik or continue with bus or boat. Why not experience the Lofoten Islands, Narvik or Bodö? We will help you wth all the contact information you may need to reserve hotel and/or local transports on the norweigan side of the border.
