Day 1       Arrive to Santiago

Day 2       Fly to Puerto Montt / Puerto Varas

Upon arrival in Puerto Montt in the Lake District, you will be met at the airport and transferred to the nearby town of Puerto Varas (30 minutes drive), on the banks of Lake Llanquihue.   In the afternoon you will make a visit to some of the surrounding small towns with a private driver/guide and vehicle.  The Lake District is a unique area of Chile, with architecture, food, and landscapes that can't be found anywhere else in the country.

Day 3       Lago Todos Los Santos

Pick up at your hotel for a visit to the iconic Osorno Volcano and a boat trip around Lago Todos Los Santos.  Lago Todos Los Santos is one of the lakes that has helped give this part of Chile its reputation as one of the most beautiful places in South America.  After about a 2 hour boat ride you will arrive to the small village of Peulla where you will have some free time to enjoy this beautiful area before having lunch at the Peulla Hotel.  You will then return in the afternoon to Puerto Varas and be dropped off at your hotel.

Day 4       Isla Chiloe and Penguin Rookery

Your guide for the day will pick you up at your hotel to take you on a guided excursion to Isla Chiloe. Chiloe is a unique area of the Lake District with a rich mythological history and interesting architecture.  The many wooden churches of the area are a highlight of this excursion.  You will also make a visit to a Penguin rookery on the coast, allowing you an up close look at the Rockhopper Penguins (seasonal), and will return to your hotel in the afternoon.
Casa Molino (B,L)

Day 5       Fly to Punta Arenas/Transfer to Ecocamp

Today you head to Patagonia.  You fly south from Puerto Montt along the Andes, arriving in southern Patagonia in the town of Punta Arenas, on the Strait of Magellan.  Upon arrival in the Park you will be met for transfer to your lodge for overnight, the unique Ecocamp (first class individual domes with private baths and heat, all the comforts of a hotel but smaller, and with the feel of being closer to the wilderness).
Ecocamp (B,L,D)

Day 6        Torres del Paine National Park

Your stay at the Ecocamp includes guided excursions.  Each day there is an option between the active (generally trekking) option and an easier going, less active option. On the easier going option, there will be opportunities for walking in highlight areas of the Park, but nothing strenuous.  On the active excursions, you will be able to trek for many hours.  You will be able to discuss the options with the guides and staff at the Ecocamp so that you can plan your trip according to your interests.  The excursions run on a fixed schedule every week, so if you want to see as much of the Park as possible, you can also add another night or nights.

This is another day for excursions in Torres del Paine National Park from the Ecocamp.
