Itinerary

Day 1       Board the vessel in Punta Arenas/Strait of Magellan
The Australis expedition cruise begins boarding at 6:00 p.m., with the Captain and crew giving a welcome cocktail reception on board. Immediately after, the ship will depart toward the city of Ushuaia, through the mythical Strait of Magellan, sailing through the Patagonian Channels and around Tierra del Fuego.

Day 2        Marinelli and Brookes Glaciers
With the first light of dawn, our navigation will continue through Almirantazgo Fiord. We will disembark in Ainsworth Bay near Marinelli Glacier, where we will take a walk to see an elephant seal colony up close and where we will also view the Magellan Forests. Later we will disembark at the bay of the Brookes Glacier to take a hike near the glacier.

Day 3         Pia Glacier / Beagle Channel
After navigating through the main part of the Beagle Channel to reach Pia Bay, we disembark and take an excursion by foot to an observation point, where we have views of the surrounding area and the entire glacier tongue of Pia Glacier. Later we continue by navigating through the Beagle Channel, where we can observe the spectacular "Glacier Avenue."

Day 4       Beagle Channel / Cape Horn National Park / Puerto Williams
After sailing through the Beagle Channel and Murray Channel we disembark at the Cabo de Hornos (Cape Horn) National Park, weather permitting. We will visit Hornos Island to get a panoramic view of the famous and mythical Cape Horn, the place where the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans merge and the last promontory of South America. Later, we disembark in Puerto Williams, the southernmost town on earth.

Day 5      Ushuaia
Arrival at Ushuaia, the most important city in Tierra del Fuego and the southernmost city of its size in the world. Passengers disembark at 8:00 a.m., allowing you to get an early start on visiting the city and national parks, and on continuing you trip through Patagonia.
