Itinerary

Day 1-3:  Morning air transfer from Johannesburg's O.R. Tambo International Airport to one of the prime wildlife areas of South Africa, for a 3-night stay at a private luxury safari lodge. An unfenced border with the world famous Kruger National Park allows elephant, lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo as well as a variety of plains game such as zebra, giraffe and antelope species to roam freely. Two game drives a day, conducted by professional rangers in open 4x4 vehicles, ensure that you get as close as possible to the wildlife. Your return is celebrated with gastronomic splendour, courtesy of the lodge's resident chef.

Day 4:  Air transfer to Cape Town, for a 4-night stay at a luxury hotel at Cape Town's famous Waterfront, a world-renowned melting pot of cultures, activities, shops, restaurants and bars.

Day 6:  Full day guided tour of the famous Cape Winelands. The breathtaking beauty of the Stellenbosch and Franschhoek vineyards – surrounded by mountain ranges and dotted with white gabled farmhouses – is surpassed only by the world famous wines on offer for tasting or purchase.

Day 7: A day of leisure in beautiful, cosmopolitan Cape Town. Choose a boat trip to Nelson Mandela's prison cell on Robben Island, a sunset cruise to Hout Bay on the Atlantic seaboard, or simply sample the shopping at one of the city's open air markets. With so many options available, it may be leisurely but it won't be idle!

Day 8-9: Afternoon air transfer to Johannesburg, for a 2-night stay at a luxury hotel in a suburb of the City of Gold. This short sojourn is a showcase of the diversity that prompted Nobel Laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu to coin the term "Rainbow Nation". On the first night you have the option of experiencing everything from African cuisine to traditional African face painting. On the second day, a full guided tour of Johannesburg and Pretoria will include an African market overflowing with handicrafts from all over Africa, a muti shop where sangomas and witchdoctors prescribe traditional herbal cures, a drive through Soweto, South Africa's most famous township, the imposing architecture of Pretoria's Voortrekker Monument and the Union Buildings, official seat of the South African government.

Day 10: Morning air transfer from Johannesburg to Livingstone, Zambia, for a 2-night stay at a luxury hotel on the banks of the Zambezi river. A dreamy sundowner river cruise past curious hippos will bring back memories of Bogart and Hepburn and the unforgettable African Queen.

Day 11: Visit the awesome Victoria Falls, one of the seven natural wonders of the world, known by local people as "The Smoke that Thunders". The brave-hearted can try the 110 metre bungee jump from the Victoria Falls bridge, enjoy 24 kilometres of Zambezi, rated the finest river rafting in the world, or take a helicopter flight to see the unforgettable spectacle of the Falls from above.

Day 12-14: 2 hour road transfer to Kazangula, the border post between Zambia and Botswana. Cross the Zambezi by motorboat, followed by a short drive to Kasane, Botswana. Light aircraft transfer from Kasane to the Okavango Delta, for a 3-night stay at an upmarket safari camp in what is known as one of the earth's last paradises. Game drives are conducted by professional rangers in open 4x4 vehicles, while dug-out 'mokoro' canoes or small motorboats provide transportation through the crystal clear waterways of the Delta with its abundance of bird life, water lilies and hippos.

Day 15: Light aircraft transfer from Okavango Delta to Maun, Botswana. Afternoon air transfer from Maun to Johannesburg's O.R. Tambo International Airport for early evening arrival.
