Every day, the MV Ocean Quest heads out to the Bell Island wrecks -- a collection of four ships sunk in 1942 by German U-boats. The PLM-27, the SS Saganaga, the Lord Strathcona, and the SS Rose Castle are all upright and intact on the bottom, and all are over 400 feet long. Today, they are underwater museums that are well protected by Ocean Quest staff and the communities of Bell Island and Conception Bay! They're also just not for history buffs -- each record is flourish reef covered in many sea anemones, invertebrates and many species of fish.
