Itinerary
Day 1 - Fly
to Spiritual India and Delhi. Delhi, Capital City of independent India is the gateway to India. It is dynamic and cosmopolitan blends of internationalism and tradition, from top-notch cuisine and fine museums and art galleries of New Delhi to the bustling twisting alleyways of Old Delhi’s Chandni Chowk bazaar.
Day 2 - Delhi
Meet and transfer to hotel. Heritage Inn / Imperial There is much to do in Delhi. To begin with, Delhi - both Old and New - is a shopper’s paradise. India’s innumerable crafts and silks are all available here at various state emporia, Central Cottage Industries and in privately owned shops.
Day 3 - Delhi / Amritsar
Morning train to Amritsar. Afternoon Visit Golden Temple and Wagah Border and watch the spectacular beating of the retreat and the change of guard ceremonies of the Indian and Pakistani forces. Overnight at Mrs. Bhandari's guest house / Ranjit's Swasa Amritsar is home to the The Golden Temple, the most sacred religious sites of Sikh people in India.
Day 4 - Amritsar / Pragpur
Drive to Pragpur (170 Kms, 3-4 hours), a heritage village.Stay at Judge's Court, a heritage hotel. Pragpur is a heritage village where the local community is trying to promote village tourism by preserving their heritage.
Day 5 - Pragpur
Explore the village. Afternoon explore the village and its surroundings with a local guide - Visit the village tank, interact with the locals and evening visit their home and see their farm. The village has a quaint market. Notable are the several silversmiths who will quickly modify trinkets to satisfy individual taste and the several village weavers will make shawls and blankets to order.
Day 6 - Pragpur / Dharamsala
Drive via Kangra Fort to Dharamsala -a Buddhist enclave. Stay at Clouds End Villa. Visit Mcleodganj home of his Holiness the Dalai Lama.
Day 7 - Dharamsala
Visit Tibetan monasteries and the nearby Norbulingka Institute which is deeply involved in the preservation of traditional Tibetan arts and crafts.Overnight at hotel
Day 8 - Dharamsala
Day at leisure or day trek to Truind The whole valley is dotted with a variety of exotic flowers and other flora. Trek descends down the valley- Mcleod Ganj, Bhagsu and Dharamsala town.
Day 9 - Dharamsala / Chakki Bank / Agra
Drive to Chakki Bank station and board train to Agra. Stay at The Gateway Hotel / Oberoi Amarvilas The romance of the world’s most famous building Taj Mahal, still astonishes in its power and beauty. In addition to the Taj Mahal, Agra houses the other two great monuments the Red Fort and nearby abandoned city Fatehpur Sikri.
Day 10 - Agra / Jhansi / Orcha
Taj view at sunrise and later take city tour. Afternoon train to Jhansi and then drive half an hour to Bundelkhand Riverside Resort for the night.
Day 11 - Orcha / Khajuraho
Visit Orchaa Palace. Then drive to Khajuraho (180 Kms, 3-4 hours). Afternoon guided tour of temples and attend evening sound and light show. Stay at Taj Chandela.
Day 12 - Khajuraho / Varanasi
Morning at leisure. Afternoon fly To Varanasi. Stay at Palace on Ganges Hotel. Varanasi is the holiest of the Hindu cities, and is one of the oldest. It is probably the oldest living city in the world, a contemporary of Babylon, Themes and Nineveh.
Day 13 - Varanasi
Morning Boat ride, tour of city and Sarnath. This is a city of colourful bazaars, exquisite and bright silks, festivals, temples, mosques and palaces - all centering around the teeming ghats of the Holy Ganges.
Day 14 - Varanasi / Delhi / Departure
Last Morning in Spiritual India at leisure. Fly to Delhi and transfer to International airport to board onwards flight
