When the Knights of St. John and other
Crusaders were evicted from
Jerusalem, they set up headquarters on
the island of Rhodes. Today medieval
Rhodes is a World Heritage Site, a carfree
community with cobblestones,
drawbridges and high stone walls. It is
exceedingly charming. An early
morning walk around the dry moat
will leave you wondering what era
you’re in.
The Crusaders established satellite
castles on nearby Kos island and
Bodrum, Turkey. The castles are
smaller than Rhodes but just as alluring.
They both lie right at their
harbors’ entry and make for an
impressive welcome by sea.
Kos is where Hippocrates was born
and you will visit the site where he
practiced medicine. Also on the itinerary
is nearby tiny Nyseros island where
you can walk down into its dormant
volcano.
Rhodes and Kos have superb beaches, a
variety of resort hotels and a service
industry quite accustomed to the
English speaking foreign guest. The
Dodecannese region is a smart choice
for a relaxing, leisure vacation.

Our tour [on the Cyclades islands] was meticulously
planned and executed -- the islands, towns where we stayed,
cycling routes, sag support, etc. were terrific. It was logistically
very complicated because we always had to be back at a port at the
correct time to catch the ferry to the next island, but we never seemed
rushed or anything cut short.

Thank you for another wonderful trip [hiking in Crete], I think the very best. I will miss the whole
group, and of course Greece.

What a fabulous trip! 3 of the women I
train with are excited about the possibility of travelling to cycle
Greece together next year with your company. I'll let you know as we
discuss plans more! Thank-you once again for a fantastic trip. Your
attention to detail was so appreciated. You just spoiled everyone.
And I appreciated the opportunity to see a side of Greece most people
will never experience.
