    I just want to thank you for a fabulous trip! You were particularly helpful with my pre and post- trip arrangements with alternative suggestions of local tours and optimal places to stay. The lodges were wonderfully varied to give us different experiences and habitats. It is nice to be sheparded occasionally through new airports and countries, although the challenge for a single gal helps keep the mind going too!

    ... Botswana made a terrific difference to the whole experience....

    In sum, I loved it all.

Itinerary

DAY 1 - CAPE TOWN
Upon arrival at the Cape Town International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel situated in the heart of the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront - The Portswood Hotel. The Portswood’s bright, spacious rooms and suites feature amenities today’s leisure and executive guests require. Guests can enjoy its famous breakfasts and Cape Malay Cuisine. DAY 2 - CAPE TOWN
Explore Cape Town and Table Mountain for a half day tour. Travel by cable car (excludes fare) to the summit. On your decent, pass through Malay Quarter, City Center, and Company Gardens. Optional visit to Castle of Good Hope. Visit the Milnerton Lighthouse with great views of Cape Town and Table Mountain. Visit the Diamond Works. Another optional excursion is Robben Island (additional fare).

DAY 3 - CAPE TOWN
Depart the hotel for your full day tour of the Cape Peninsula, an unforgettable journey to the mythical meeting place of the two great oceans. Breathtaking scenic beauty contrasts with the harsh rugged conditions of the most south-westerly edge of the Africa Continent. Highlights include: Clifton beaches, Hout Bay & Mariners’ Wharf, Chapman’s Peak Drive, Cape Point & Nature Reserve, Penguin Colony at the Boulders and Historic Simon’s Town.

DAY 4 - CAPE TOWN
Spend today at leisure on your own to enjoy Cape Town for shopping, visiting museums and more site seeing. You can also visit the famous Wineland area of Stellenbosch and Franschoek (additional fare).

DAY 5 - VICTORIA FALLS
You will be collected from the hotel and transferred to Cape Town International Airport in time for a departing flight from Cape Town to O.R. Tambo International Airport (Johannesburg). Upon arrival you will connect to your scheduled flight to Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe). Upon arrival at Victoria Falls, you will be met and transferred to your lodge. Rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 6 - VICTORIA FALLS
After a hearty breakfast, you will proceed on a walking tour of the mighty Victoria Falls- considered one of the seven natural wonders of the world. With a width of 1.7 kms, the Falls have a capacity to push 555,000 cubic meters of water per minute over the basalt cliff into the Zambezi River Gorge. In the afternoon, you will go on a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River where there will be an opportunity to witness wildlife along the banks.

DAY 7 - CHOBE NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, you will travel into Botswana. Upon completing border formalities, you will be transferred to your lodge. After lunch (time permitting) you will proceed for an afternoon game drive. Known for its elephant population, Chobe National Park covers an area of over 10,500 km² and boasts of one of the highest populations of game in Southern Africa. Return in time for a shower and cocktails before dinner.

DAY 8 - CHOBE NATIONAL PARK
After an early morning wake up call, you will travel to Chobe National Park for some spectacular game viewing in our open air 4x4 vehicles. You will return for a late breakfast. Rest of the afternoon at leisure. In the late afternoon, you will have an opportunity to experience river game viewing on a river boat.

DAY 9 - JOHANNESBURG
After a short morning game drive and breakfast, you will transfer back to Victoria Falls in time to connect to yoru flight to Johannesburg. Upon arrival in Johannesburg you will be met by a Safari Ventures representative and transferred to your hotel. Remainder of the day at your own leisure.

DAY 10 - JOHANNESBURG
Explore Soweto for a half-day tour of informal settlements, affluent suburbs, the Mandela House, the Hector Pieterson Memorial and celebrity houses. You will also view history of the segregation (apartheid). You will return to the hotel for rest and relaxation for the rest of the day.

DAY 11 - RETURN
After breakfast, you will be transferred the O.R. Tambo International Airport (Johannesburg) for your return flight home.
