Itinerary

 Day 1
We'll pick you up at your accommodations in Charlottetown at 10 am. We'll head for the North Shore to Cavendish where we’ll stroll the Homestead Walk with scenic lookouts on lagoons, sand dunes along New London Bay. We will enjoy a picnic along the trail. After our walk, we can walk the beach at Cavendish before heading to our lodging. Along the way to our accommodations for the week, we’ll make a stop at The Dunes Gallery, internationally known for its wonderful collection of Island art and crafts.
Tonight we'll settle into our home for the duration of our adventure, Shaw's Hotel (Ph: 902-672-2022), Canada's oldest family-operated inn and resort.  This evening we can take a stroll on the resort's 75 acres, overlooking Brackley Bay. (Walk up to 8 km or 5 miles, drive up to 1.5 hours)

Day 2
This morning we’ll explore the home of Anne of Green Gables and walk the trails, Lovers' Lane and the Haunted Wood, that inspired Lucy Maude Montgomery to create the story of Anne, the heroine beloved by millions around the world. This afternoon brings a few options to choose from. If you would like to walk, we will head to Dalvay and walk the Woodlands Trail in the PEI National Park. This trail meanders through a quiet wooded area featuring a 50-year old Red Pine plantation.
There is another option to enjoy a kayak journey on the peaceful waters of Rustico Bay or rent bikes from the Inn and cycle around the dunes and shoreline of the park. Kayaking is a great way to explore the dunes from the water and visit the abundant wildlife along the salt marshes. Blue Herons and many sea birds feed in these nutrient rich waters and eel grass. Golf options are available for the adults, while the younglings play. The Gulf of St. Lawrence offers some of the warmest waters north of the Carolina's and the best sands for building sand castles.
We'll enjoy an Island tradition: Lobster Supper at one of the Island's best.
(Walk up to 7 km or 4 miles. Golf Option costs are not included. Drive up to 1 hour)

Day 3
We'll travel to St. Peter's where we'll see the many mussel farms in the Bay and where aqua-culture is a thriving Island industry. Before lunch, we'll visit the Interpretation Centre at the Greenwich Dunes and learn about the extensive preservation practices to conserve the fragile vegetation that keeps these dunes together. After lunch, we’ll walk the dunes at the Greenwich National Park and explore the rare system of parabolic sand dunes that are the highest in the province. We’ll return at day’s end to share our farewell dinner together at the Inn.
(Walk up to 8 km or 5 miles, Drive up to 2.5 hours)

Day 4
This morning we can take a bike ride on the Confederation Trail or simply relax before returning to Charlottetown by noon.
