Itinerary
Day 1
Welcome to Canada’s True North!
We’ll meet you in Whitehorse at 8:00AM and explore briefly the capital city of the Yukon and its surroundings including the famous Miles Canyon before heading south on the Klondike Highway. We will pass beautiful Emerald Lake and visit Carcross Desert before boarding the historic White Pass Railway.
The train will take you on a scenic trip down the legendary White Pass through the Coast Mountains to the quaint little gold rush town of Skagway.
We overnight at The Whitehouse B&B .

As we will cross into Alaska, please ensure that you have all necessary documents for entry into the USA!
Day 2
Early morning we will cross the Lynn Canal by ferry to arrive in the town of Haines, locked in by peaks and glaciers. We will explore Haines and pass through the Chilkat Bald Eagle Reserve, where in early winter more than 3000 bald eagles unite to feast on a late salmon run. We will cross over Haines Pass and enjoy magnificent views of the surrounding snow covered mountains. Once again in the Yukon, the highway follows the western border of Kluane National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We'll do a hike into the park before continuing to Haines Junction.
We spend the next 2 nights at The Raven

Day 3
Various hiking trails let us explore Yukon's Kluane National Park and Reserve, which, along with Alaska's Wrangell - St. Elias and Glacier Bay National Park and British Columbia's Tatshenshini Alsek Park, form the largest international protected area in the world. A sightseeing flight will let us discover more of this incredible wilderness area as we fly over immense ice fields amidst some of the highest peaks in North America. The Park is also home to Mount Logan, Canada’s highest mountain at 5959 metres.

Day 4
After a short walk we will travel on the Alaska Highway towards Whitehorse. In the afternoon we visit the kennel of a participant of the famous Yukon Quest Race where we will get an introduction to dog mushing and go for a walk with the huskies. Before continuing on to Whitehorse, we’ll enjoy a BBQ of local specialties.
We will stay at the Westmark Whitehorse

Day 5
The Klondike Highway takes us north, past old roadhouses and through sleepy native villages further into the wilderness. Along the way, we will take a short hike to the 5 Finger Rapids of the Yukon River, a major obstacle for boats during the Klondike Gold Rush of 1896-98. We head towards Dawson City, once called the “Paris of the North”.
We spend the next 2 nights at the Westmark Inn Dawson City

Day 6
Early today we will drive parts of the spectacular Dempster Highway, Canada’s first all-weather road to cross the Arctic Circle. A moderate hike will bring us further into the wilderness of the Tombstone Mountains and we may be able to see bears, caribou, moose and other wildlife. In the evening we will visit famous Diamond Tooth Gertie’s Saloon and enjoy a show.

Day 7
A short drive up to the Midnight Dome will let us enjoy spectacular views of Dawson City and the Yukon River. On a guided walking tour we explore Dawson City and its fascinating history and charming atmosphere. There is time to do your own exploring of this historic goldrush town before taking a flight back to Whitehorse in the afternoon.
