Switzerland presents it most beautiful region where pictures are too perfect!

This leisurely tour takes you to fresh water, flat lands and to the foot of the mountains, through the vineyards of La Côte and into the medieval villages, from the seat of you’re bike, you’ll see it all!

Lake “Leman” of Geneva lies at the heart of the city, surrounded by a horizon of pretty Swiss architecture and towered by a breath-taking backdrop of mountains.

But don’t let the monstrosity of the mountains scare you! You’ll be gliding past those mounts with no bird’s eye view of anything!

"The snow is flying and we're waxing the skis. The bikes are quiet for now. Anyway...while riding out the current snowstorm, couldn't help but reflect on the "going for the yellow" tour from this summer. The excitement and spectacle of Le Tour...the sweat on the demanding climbs and stuffing our bellies into food commas at the day's conclusion. How can you not love that? Anyway, just wanted to take time to thank you and your crew. We had an absolutely great time!.... and now have many treasured memories to accompany the envious looks from our friends. Hope all stays well for you. "

" We enjoyed all of the hotels. We really appreciate the smaller, local hotels. We would stay at any of them again! ... Superb [restaurents], especially in Castello d'Empuries, the restaurant just down the street from Hotel Casa Clara. Wonderful! ... We really appreciated that they added the panniers and toe cages [to our bikes]. This made our trip much more enjoyable...Phillippe and Alexandra were extremely helpful."

"Dinners were out of this world. The service and attention to detail was most exceptional at the hotel in Vitrac. They deserve special notice. In contrast to prior trips, we never missed a turn or got lost. In some ways, we regret that. What can I say? ces't magnifique!"

Itinerary

Day 1: Geneva to Yvoire or Anthy-sur-Léman (57 km or 35.4 miles)

From the chic city to the countryside, on low terrain and guided by the left bank of the Lake Leman, you will pass through many pretty villages (Founex, Bossey, Céligny and Signy) towards Rolle. Spoilt with choice, you can pick your preferred taste of Swiss, with many cafes surrounding the lake; you have a choice of many local flavors.

Why not try Leman’s produce of local fish dishes or pinch a taste of French cuisine? In the afternoon, you will roll onto the ferry at “Rolle”, across the lake to rest in the beautiful, medieval village of “Yvoire” or neighbouring village of “Anthy”.

Day 2: Loop day around Yvoire or Anthy (two options: 60 or 75 km - 38 or 47 miles)

Today can be spent hopping on and off your bike in the “Lower Chablais” valley of the Rhône-Alpes region, whether you want to relax by the pool at your hotel or you want to capture a glimpse of “Swiss” and “French” life in one sweep. Why not take a step out into the charming French village of Yvoire and discover 700 years of history? A flowered medieval fishing village – the Labyrinth Garden of Five Senses, art gallery, and deco aged stones are all worth visiting! From here, you can carry forth through beautiful bays facing the Jura Moutains (Port de Séchex and Port de Sciez).

The village of Anthy-sur-Léman is nestled in-between the Rhône-Alpes mountains, it’s an adventure meandering through the windy streams seeping from the lake, before sweeping round through; Mâcheron and Fessy (without forgetting to take a peek at the magnificent Château d'Avully). Finally your exciting exploration is finished by rolling over gentle hills and forests of Brens, Ballaison and Chevilly before entering Yvoire once more.

Day 3: Anthy-sur-Léman or Yvoire - Geneva (35 km or 22 miles)

Really enjoying the scenery at Yvoire from the back of your bike? There is a reason why…. Yvoire belongs to the “Les Plus Beaux Villages de France” (The most beautiful villages of France), a title that has so far only been awarded to two villages in the Upper Savoy region!

From Yvoire to Sciez; the ‘Notre Dame de Chavannex’ has been settled and still standing strong since 1390, just 2km from the centre of the town. The charming chateau is worth visiting for magnificent views onto the horizon of the Rhone Alpes mountains, the lake and plains of wilderness. Take a smooth ride onto the “Pavillon Bleu” of the Port of Sciez. Here you can relax at the beach and lake, surrounded by forests. Today is a true escapade through peaceful villages of Haute Savoie, open roads and plains of striking vineyards. Through the winding roads of Massongy, Ballaison, Loisin and Veigy- Foncenex, to the two letter village of Gy, each at their own full of character and natural beauty. From here it is a short ride back alongside the lake, returning to the fresh city of Geneva.
