The city of Florianopolis (referred to as Floripa by islanders) is the gateway to Santa Catarina, island paradise off the southern Brazilian coast and a highlight location for any travel to Brazil. Blessed with subtropical forests, surf rivaling the Hawaii Islands, a laid-back island vibe and Rio-style nightlife, Santa Catarina is a popular destination for tourists from other parts of South America. The geography and attractions of Santa Catarina trip allow visitors to experience the destination as an international playground or peaceful oasis.
In this adventurous Brazil tour, enjoy a combination of hiking and white water rafting with plenty of time to enjoy the white-sand beaches in your pick of calm warm waters or big surf. The itinerary includes three excursions in the company of an English-speaking guide: an exciting (yet safe) whitewater rafting trip and two very different hikes. One hike is undemanding, along the scenic lakeshore depicted in Santa Catarina postcards, and the other challenging, ascending into the mountains with panoramic views on the way to the beach considered the island's most beautiful. Each evening a nightlife guide is included to help you find the best restaurants, clubs and/or music. Of course you will always be guided to the best spots with your name on the VIP lists.
A little over two hours from Buenos Aires and only an hour and a half from Rio by air, this Brazil tour in Santa Catarina is closer than one might expect. Travel to Brazil and enjoy one the hottest locations in all of South America!

“I traveled to Peru and Equador (the Galapagos) in January 2010. While I have traveled extensively throughout the world, this trip was my introduction to South America. I was extremely impressed with Southern Explorations and the high level of their operations. The itinerary was expertly planned, the hotels were wonderful and perfectly located, the guides spoke excellent English and were well informed, and the transfers were handled with ease. I had an absolutely delightful and memorable holiday and would not hesitate to book another one with Southern Explorations.”
  • Reviewer: Eric Vilbert located in Peru
“We're already looking to book up the Galapagos Multisport trip with you for the same timeframe of next year. The trip exceeded expectations, and we all felt like we got excellent value for our money on this trip.”
  • Reviewer: Joe Kromdyk located in Peru
