Join us for this magical spiritual journey to Bali. Our intent for this blessed spiritual retreat is to open hearts and inspire action as we “journey within” and discover the real Bali and ourselves. Through intimate experiences with the native people and special cultural interactions – you will notice a change within that will forever change your life. Bali has a way of creeping into your heart and merging with your soul.
Opening to Spirit
Through specially crafted experiences and adventures, you will find yourself falling in love with the Balinese way of life. Centered around a group of temples, every community is cohesive and cooperative – illustrating what our world could be like if we all worked together. Music, art, theater, work and religious practice is all one in the same and every action is taken as an offering to Spirit. They believe that the physical world is permeated by the spiritual world – sekala niskala (meaning visible-invisible) – and this is a great source of inspiration.

Itinerary
Day 1 June 9 (-/-/-) Bali!
Upon arrival in Bali at the Ngurah Rai Airport in Denspasar, you’ll be met and transferred to your village bungalows with private gardens at Tandjungsari Hotel located on Sanur Beach – one of Bali’s first beach resorts though it still retains its Balinese character and old style village ambiance. Here you can start “unplugging to plug into” Bali. Enjoy the palm-lined beach, facing the Indian Ocean towards the east; Sanur is also an excellent place to see the sunrise as “Bali is the morning of the world.” Offshore reefs protect the beach against the waves, and make it popular for windsurfing, boating, and other water sports. You may want to arrive a day or two early before beginning your trip.
Day 2 June 10 (B/L/-) Uluwatu Temple & Sunset Kecak Dance
Start your journey with your first moving meditation beach walk in silence at your first Balinese sunrise because “Bali is the morning of the world.” After your morning of complete unwinding, in the early afternoon you’ll have a Welcome Lunch at your hotel to connect, set intentions, and get a cultural Balinese briefing. In the late afternoon you’ll visit Uluwatu Temple; its location on the cliffs of the southern most tip of this magical island guards the Balinese from the evil spirits of the Indian Ocean. You’ll also attend a performance of the most unusual and memorable kecak dance, as the sun is setting over the Indian Ocean – a must-do for every traveler to Bali! Overnight at Tandjungsari Hotel.
Day 3 June 11 (B/-/-) Munduk countryside
Expand Bali’s magic working in you with a sunrise moving meditation walk on the beach in silence. Today’s full day tour connects you with Mother Nature and takes you to the market at Candi Kuning to smell, see and shop the exotic spices, fruits, plants and textiles of the island; this is followed with a gentle meditative stroll through the grounds and gardens that lead you to the Ulun Danu Temple on Lake Beratan and finally; enjoy a drive through the Munduk countryside – an area of spectacular terraced rice fields.
You’ll take a short hike to Munduk Waterfall for a special ritual. A stop will be made for lunch at a coffee plantation with panoramic views (lunch not included in price). Then you will head to your hotel in Ubud – Bali ’s cultural heart located in the cool mountains. This traditional country town is the home of the Balinese Royal Family and a flourishing arts center where you’ll find most of Bali’s museums. Be prepared for serious pampering with five nights accommodations in a suite room at Komaneka Hotel at Bisma.
Day 4 June 12 (B/-/-) Tampaksiring Holy Temple, Pura Tirta Empul Temple & Dukun
Continue healing with a morning moving meditation in silence along the rice fields. This morning you’ll participate in a ritual purification ceremony at the holy spring of Tampaksiring like thousands of spiritual pilgrims from all faiths. The temple and its two bathing spots have been used by the Balinese for over a thousand years for good health and prosperity; the Balinese believe that the spring water really does have the power to cure.
The special ceremony for all of us will be overseen by a Hindu priest. (Bring a towel, as you’ll get wet as you go through the pool’s fountains that represent stages of purification.) You’ll also visit a dukun (Balinese healer) to learn about healing using traditional methods. (Donations not included for individual consultations.)The afternoon is at your leisure to reflect and journal. Overnight at Komaneka Hotel.

On the way to the village, you’ll visit an elementary school where you’ll visit a classroom and deliver a gift of school supplies and share your newly learned Balinese song (subject to classes being in session).
On arrival at the village, you’ll visit a farmer in the fields. You’ll also have an opportunity to participate in preparing farm implements, and planting or cultivating rice using traditional methods. Or, feel free to just observe and take pictures. Continue to the village compound where you’ll see a demonstration, have a short lesson, and participate in playing the instruments of the village gamelan orchestra and show your new dancing skills if you choose! You’ll have an opportunity to sing the Balinese song that you learned. In addition, you’ll learn how to make a temple offering and a woven bamboo hat to take home. In the late afternoon you’ll travel to the sacred Pasar Agung Mountain Temple (Bali’s highest temple) at the base of a volcano for the full moon ceremony. Experience prayer and meditation in two areas of the temple proper with a Hindu priest; you will feel the power and energy of the sacred mountain as sunset falls and the lights of Bali turn on like a star-studded carpet with breathtaking panoramic views. At the temple you’ll have a box dinner and can also eat the offerings that you bring to the temple. Return home in silence until breakfast time with a renewed perspective, peace and inspiration for you and your life intentions. The Barong is the magical protector of Balinese villages. As “lord of the forest” with a fantastic fanged mask and long mane, he is the opponent of Rangda the witch, who rules over the spirits of darkness, in the never ending fight between good and evil.
In the late morning you’ll travel to eastern Bali with stops at the ikat factory in Sidemen Village where the Balinese buy their special temple clothing and the textile markets at Klungkung.
