    It was wonderful.  I had very high expectations prior to the trip, and I am happy to say that all of my expectations were exceeded.  The staff, accommodations, and food at the camp were fantastic.  The wildlife was amazing.  We saw the "big five" and were fortunate to experience the great migration of wilder beast and zebras into the park.

    The trip was great! Tibet and Bhutan were fascinating. The Bhutan people are so very wonderful I wanted to bring them back with me, great country. Tibet is so wonderful. Some areas are better than others, but the temples and the whole atmosphere with Buddhism is amazing. We had the best guide ever, and the driver was wonderful. We had a great experience.

    The Galapagos is best experienced aboard a larger boat (100-person), and while I took the three night version I recommend the four- or seven-night.  Of course, the three night/four day left me wanting more which is the best sign of a great vacation.  While you may think a larger boat creates crowded situations with lines and congestion, this was not the case at all.  The boat is organized, and there are two trips a day to the islands providing extensive time viewing the animals and feeling Darwinesque.  Yes, the blue footed boobies do have blue feet, and yes, the iguanas do actually swim.  Words do not describe the experience, and pictures do the booby’s feet an injustice.  Do not leave this earth without the experience!

Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Visiting: Volcanoes National Park

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by our local guide. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the opportunity to visit Kigali city, including the Genocide Memorial at Gisozi.

Afterward, transfer to Kinigi, located in the foothills of Volcanoes National Park (Kinigi) for dinner and your overnight.

Genocide Memorials: In Rwanda, there are Memorials to remember the genocide of 1994 throughout the nation. The most important Genocide Memorials are those of Kigali (Gisozi) and Murambi (Gikongoro) where the history of the genocide is explained. A visit to the genocide memorial is for many visitors an incredibly emotional event.

Day 2 : Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park

Visiting: Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, depart for the headquarters of the Park where the guide will accomplish the necessary formalities. Meet the ranger guide for a briefing about the greatest animal experience ever. Drive to the slopes of one of the Virunga volcanoes for gorilla trekking.

After the trekking, if time allows, lunch at Ruhengeri and in the afternoon an excursion to explore the beautiful lakes in the region (Lake Bulera and Ruhondo). Afterwards, you will continue onward to Kigali for your overnight.

Day 3 : Kigali visit and Departure

Visiting: Kigali

Pick up from your Kigali hotel, and depending on the departure time, there will be a Kigali city tour including the visit of the Genocide Memorial center at Gizozi. Transfer to the airport in time for your departure.
