    It was wonderful.  I had very high expectations prior to the trip, and I am happy to say that all of my expectations were exceeded.  The staff, accommodations, and food at the camp were fantastic.  The wildlife was amazing.  We saw the "big five" and were fortunate to experience the great migration of wilder beast and zebras into the park.

    The trip was great! Tibet and Bhutan were fascinating. The Bhutan people are so very wonderful I wanted to bring them back with me, great country. Tibet is so wonderful. Some areas are better than others, but the temples and the whole atmosphere with Buddhism is amazing. We had the best guide ever, and the driver was wonderful. We had a great experience.

    The Galapagos is best experienced aboard a larger boat (100-person), and while I took the three night version I recommend the four- or seven-night.  Of course, the three night/four day left me wanting more which is the best sign of a great vacation.  While you may think a larger boat creates crowded situations with lines and congestion, this was not the case at all.  The boat is organized, and there are two trips a day to the islands providing extensive time viewing the animals and feeling Darwinesque.  Yes, the blue footed boobies do have blue feet, and yes, the iguanas do actually swim.  Words do not describe the experience, and pictures do the booby’s feet an injustice.  Do not leave this earth without the experience!

Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrive and Tour of Santiago

Visiting: Santiago

Reception at the airport and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon depart for a full day tour of Santiago. Start the tour at the San Francisco Church, built between 1572 and 1618. Continue west visiting the Club Hipico horse-racing course, considered one of the most beautiful courses in South America. Visit the Plaza de Armas home to important national monuments including the Iglesia Catedral, Correo Central, and the Municipalidad de Santiago. Continue to the Cerro Santa Lucia, the location where the city was founded in 1541. Cross the Mapocho River to visit unique residential districts. Drop off at your hotel at the end of the day.

Day 2 : Tour Coastal Towns

Visiting: Valparaiso and Santiago

Explore Valparaiso, Vina del Mar and the coastal beaches. On the drive to Valparaiso you will see a variety of scenery and vegetation in the Curacavi and Casablanca Valleys, as well as the coastal mountain range. In Valparaiso visit Chile’s main commercial port, see clusters of houses built along the hills, including “La Sebastiana”, the former home poet Pablo Neruda. After visiting sites in Valparaiso drive north along the coast to Vina del Mar, known as “The Garden City”, where you will see the Floral Clock, the Abarca Cove, Wulff Castle, Marga-Marga estuary, Acapulco beach, and Vergara Quay. Continue north along the coast to see the beaches before returning to Vina del Mar then back to Santiago. Drop off at your hotel.
