Itinerary
Day 1: Bangor-Baxter
After a shuttle from Bangor, we venture into the Maine woods with a hike to Mount Sentinel with views of Katahdin and Kidney Pond.
Day 2: Gulf Hagas
Hike into Gulf Hagas and glimpse into Maine's expansive backcountry. The Grand Canyon of Maine, this magnificent gorge displays vertical slate walls up to 400 feet deep as well as tempting swimming holes set below serene waterfalls.
Day 3: Chimney Pond-Great Basin
Today we immerse ourselves in this place of discovery with a hike from Chimney Pond to the Great Basin, hiking above treeline with stunning views of Katahdin.
Day 4: Bar Harbor-Acadia National Park
After a morning shuttle to Bar Harbor explore the white sand beaches and the rocky points of Maine's breathtaking coastline from sea kayaks.
Day 5: Acadia National Park
Hike Acadia National Park's famous coastline to the summits of Sargent and Penobscot Mountains with lunch in one of the park's most remote areas.
Day 6: Acadia National Park
Today we hike the coastline from Sand Beach to the cliffs of Otter Point, passing "Thunder Hole" along the way. The trail continues to Mt. Gorham with spectacular ocean views and on to the Great Head Cliffs, the highest point on Mt. Desert Island.
