Itinerary
Days 1-2: Beijing
Tour Beijing's most fascinating and historical spots--the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and the Temple of Heaven. Enjoy a performance by the world-renowned troupe of Chinese acrobats.
Days 3-4: Great Wall-Beijing-Tunxi
Hike a section of the Great Wall at Simatai which is seldom visited by foreign tourists. Return to Beijing for a visit to the Summer Palace and stroll through the "hutongs"--the city's back alleys--to glimpse the everyday life of real Chinese. Then we fly to Tunxi, the ancient trading city and gateway to fabled Huangshan.
Days 5-6: Huangshan (Yellow Mountains)
Hike to the summits of Huangshan--a land of jagged peaks, twisted pines, and ethereal mist--and rise early for a celestial sunrise. Explore surrounding peaks with names like Lotus Flower, Bright Top and Celestial Capital. Visit Yixian, where Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was filmed.
Days 7-11: Guilin-Yangshuo
After a flight to the romantic and beautiful city of Guilin, cruise the Li River through the incredible limestone karst hill country. Bike the backroads to the fishing village of Xing Ping and the backpacker's haven of Yangshuo. Climb Yao Mountain and tour Reed Flute Cave. Top it all off with an evening of native dance. Our Chinese adventure ends at Guilin airport.
